And not to start anything, but a simple observation.... it seems like A lot of people around here and the Madden community in general seem to have false and overly high expectations. Maybe if they had more realistic expectations based on Madden's track record, they wouldn't be so let down every year.

Hyperbole aside it was users with false expectations who set these expectations, it wasn't EA. Really hard to blame anyone else but yourselves since there was never a promise given as much as it's being made out to be.
And yes, I don't like it, but I don't see how anyone can be mad at EA for breaking a promise they never made.Comment

Re: EA Access Gives You Just Six Hours Of Madden NFL 15 Gameplay
They have always stated there would be a time limit. The word Limit is used on their website many times. It never said how long (as it will be different for different games), and there was speculation on this site that non-sports games would have limits but sports games wouldn't. But that is all it was, speculation.
I was hopeful, as well. But when I calmed down and read the site, it was there plain as day.Comment

I understand you are angry with this, but I'm curious as to your side. Explain why you see it that way.Comment

Re: EA Access Gives You Just Six Hours Of Madden NFL 15 Gameplay
Ok hows this? I see and understand the frustration that this EA Access outcome is causing BUT.... let's play it out and see how it is long term before continuing to bash it. To be fair to EA, this Access is brand new and not even been let off it's leash yet. Give it some time and see if it's still being a pain. Maybe for those into it, it'll turn out to be a good thing. Remember, here, we're just connecting it to Madden 15, but they said it'll cover ALL of EA, soooo.....Comment

Re: EA Access Gives You Just Six Hours Of Madden NFL 15 Gameplay
I'm well versed in the structure of contracts.
I doubt anywhere in there it said anything about the length of Madden (since no one pointed it out) but I do know for fact that it was very well stated that the length of early access to games could be limited to as little as two hours and exact game titles were not specified.
There was ZERO deception. Just well written releases that never mentioned specific times with the game.
What there was was a lack of communication and I will in no way, shape, or form absolve EA for that, but to say you were deceived is factually incorrect.Last edited by kehlis; 08-18-2014, 10:53 PM.Comment

It's being overlooked despite the fact it was pointed out.
It boils down to a lack of communication which I don't think anyone can argue with since this question has been asked for awhile now. Finding this out now is what has boiled frustration.Comment

Because they told us about EA Access, made it available, then waited to tell us that it would be restricted. Mostly everyone already bought it under the assumption that it would be like Season Ticket was. It's very shady how it was done. Only 6 hours? The only reason to do that is if you're afraid people will play it on this and not buy the game, but the ONLY way players don't buy the full game is if it sucks.Comment

I don't feel like they are afraid of people seeing the game at all. There are a ton of copies out to media outlets and prominent community members. There is no NDA on media (I'm watching a stream on Twitch right now). I think they are EXTREMELY confident with their game.
The time limit was put on by EA, not EA Sports or Tiburon. The time limit isn't the Madden team's fault, I don't believe.Comment

I agree that there was a lack of direct communication, but it is stated on the EA Access site that there are time limits on Early Access as low as 2 hours. Most assumed there wouldn't be on sports games due to Season Ticket (as you stated), but that's all they were - assumptions.
