    EA Sports Cancels Season Ticket

Will be phased out by 2016. Guess no hope of it coming to the New Gen

EA Sports Season Ticket, a subscription service for early access to the publisher's sports games and discounted DLC, will be phased out by early 2016.

lol Sad ain't it. EA laying off more employees while taking away one of the few things that makes them money and fans happy. You wonder why EA can't afford to keep employees on. Because of stuff like that. Either EA doesn't care or just don't got a clue how to make fans happy. Now you know why EA keeps losing money every year. They do dumb things like this. Maybe one day EA will get smart and start doing things for the fans and not for their pocket. What companies enjoy losing money every year. EA most love it. They are not doing nothing to improve it. Maybe one day EA will get the point. But until the fans have to suffer I guess.

Man, EA's days are numbered. Their stock has been plummeting over the last several years. It is a poorly run company that has a high turnover rate. Their games are poorly developed, they are losing loyal customers, the leadership is poor, their games are not innovative , and they have poor customer service skills . I've said it before. They have been able to retain their business with exclusive licenses. Eventually, at the rate they're going , those licenses will not be enough . I can't think of one ea title, other than Madden, I would purchase. The Madden purchase, is simply for a football fix. EA is slowly losing the trust of their customer base . Ea needs to lose Tiburon. They need to replace the guys like Donnie Moore who have an old school philosophy in regards to how Madden should play. That said I cannot figure out why EA would abandon a revenue generator such as this. Puzzling

I am guessing this might be EAs way of phasing out of last gen games. Maybe they will still make a few maddens after this year, but mostly with just roster updates and minimal additions. Sort of like what they did with Gen and last gen.

Remember some of the gen one maddens still Al Michaels and John Madden, while the last gen had the radio guy.

Is this really a big surprise? ? Is it not just called ea early access now? (Next gen)

            This is just wrong.

Out of all the major video game publishers, EA had the highest aggregate Metacritic score in 2012 and had the greatest number of positively-received games by Metacritic in 2013; between FIFA 15, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Madden 15, The Sims 4, and Battlefield: Hardline, the brand has plenty of opportunities for hits and high-selling games this fall and winter.

EA had $4 Billion in total revenue in 2013 and as of 2012 employ more people than any other video game publisher (even counting Activision-Blizzard as the same company rather than two separate brands). EA's stock price his higher today than it was at any point in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, or 2009 and their stock is up on the year for 2014 overall.

If EA were to go under, the entire video game industry has a MASSIVE problem and would have likely suffered a collapse similar in scale to that seen in 1983. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, however. Not saying they are infallible, but they are a behemoth in the space and it is going to take a helluva lot for them to go under, likely including factors outside of the company's control.

The reason Season Ticket is going away is because EA Access is replacing it on current-generation consoles for all products produced by the publisher and previous-generation consoles will most certainly be phased out three years from now. This move wasn't made in a vacuum.

That's what I understand - what's with all the doom and gloom?

Is EA really losing money on an annual basis for their EA Sports titles?
how could I lose? im playing by my own rules..

                          That was sony's decision.

                            Not really their fault.

Remember, EA Access was designed for both the ps4 and xb1.

It's counter productive to keep allocating resources on both.

I think you need to do a little more research and your take is a bit out dated by probably 3 or 4 years. Search the stock chart over the past five years for EA, it will clearly show that what you are saying is completely not true.

Here is a hint, the stock has been trending upward since 2012. Here is another hint, EA isn't going anywhere.
