    Defensive camera

Something I haven't seen discussed too much here, and with the release of Madden 15 looming, I was wondering how many of you plan on using the new defensive camera as a primary way to play D this year?

Do you plan on transitioning slowly to it and learning it as you go along, or will you dive right in and bring in some much needed freshness on D by playing from the D's perspective?

Which position do you think you will probably play the most as with the new cam? Any specific favorite player you would want to control? Or do you think you would play multiple positions, depending on the down and distance?

Myself, I plan on playing as the Rams in my offline CFM and definitely sticking with the beast that is Robert Quinn. I really like him. Maybe if I end up drafting a play maker SS I'll give that a try as well. I just feel the satisfaction from making a play from the new D angle is a great thing instead of the traditional D camera from the O's perspective.

I'm looking forward to trying to somewhat master it and play solely from the D cam. I like the freshness it brings to the D. I also plan on playing with Zoom camera on offense, which I think adds a bit more of a challenge as well. All in all, Zoom camera on O and the new D cam perspective should provide some satisfaction on both sides of the ball this year, especially with the jump in graphics.

So how excited are you about the new D cam? Could it possibly use more fine-tuning? Probably, but it's a good start, IMO.

Big fan of the new camera. I used to play SS every year, it was the only position I really enjoyed playing on D. Now, everything is pretty fun. ESPECIALLY the D-Line...I may have had more fun trying to shed blocks and get sacks than doing anything else in the game.

I'm glad to hear all the good feedback on guys who have already used to the D camera. It's getting me even more excited to try it on the D-line this year. DE and SS will be my positions of choice I've determined. Can't wait!

Let me ask, which position did you play online? CB, SS, FS? Or did you switch around? Just seems like that would take some getting used to, to compete online using the D cam. I'm glad to hear you liked it though.

I noticed in one video the user was a D-lineman and the QB threw a pass deep, but he had pretty much no time to react to the pass with one of his DBs in case they may have been in position to intercept the ball. I'm just wondering if that will be the one drawback.. play as the D-line, but you leave it up to the CPU to D up in the secondary and make the INTs. =/

I played D-Line mostly to get pressure on the QB and was able to switch to the DB's. Had some success. I plan on trying to get use to it, very nice to use to me. FUN!!

Nice! I'm glad to hear you were able to switch to your DB and possibly make a play on the ball. That was pretty much my only concern with the D cam, but if it's possible to get to the DB in time to make a play that is all the better. D cam was a much needed addition. Custom camera would be cool too, but the D cam brings a whole new freshness to that side of the ball, IMO.

Same. Can't really imagine going back after using it.

                        Re: Defensive camera

I am just happy I can play "Superstar" mode (that's what I call it when I play CFM offline as a player) as a defender. I used to have a SS in Madden 11(?) but then they took the camera angle away and it was no longer fun for me. I couldn't immerse myself as a LB, DB or DL because of the default cameras - that includes WR/TE on offesne.

Now I can't wait to get back into it after all these years! So, yes, I will be using it frequently.
