Too many CPU sacks in Madden? I disagree. Here's why.

So far, one of the many impressions that I've am reading regarding Madden 15, is that CPU is sacking the users too frequently.

Users are saying that they don't have enough time but if you actually watch real NFL QBs dropback, then you will see most QBs only have 4 to 5 seconds to get rid of ball.

Madden 15 is teaching us that we have to start reading defenses more efficiently. We have to process this information quickly and know where we want to go with the ball realtime.

If you can, count the number of seconds these QBs have to get their throws off in the vids below:

Also if you notice , most real defensive lines get decent pressure.

    1 1000 , 2 1000, 3, 1000....

I agree, that is why Madden should be played on a slower game speed if they want more time.

Not to mention most probably don't pay attention to what their line is capable of.

If your OL is terrible at pass protection then you may want to fix that.
The more Madden gets to a better simulation the more complaints we'll see.

I agree there has always needed to be more pressure. What worries me is if the CPU awareness is on point to avoid taking an over abundance of sacks.

          I don't have a problem with sacks because I run a lot.

I will say this, the defense has me throwing the ball away a lot on drop backs.lol

The more I think about it the more I love it.

This is an awesome quote Sky...so much so I had to use it in my sig..

What does worry me though (as you pointed out)...is that once the masses get a hold of the game, that the complaints will get EA's attention enough for a "dumbing down" patch.

I've read enough of the impressions thread (from folks I trust here) to know that I'll enjoy the game, but I can't lie....I'm a bit worried about when the game releases Tues.

            I hope like hell I'm wrong....so we'll see.

A,big problem for years is users never use a RB or TE to help block. I am glad the game is stepping up and becoming more realistic. Manning, in real life, they say gets the ball out of his hand on average of 2.7 seconds.

Also, I can't help but wonder how the people "getting sacked too much" are handling their dropbacks. If they are user dropbacks 12+ yards every time that ain't helping either. I use auto dropback and step up in the pocket when the rush comes, feels pretty organic and realistic to me this year.

Thats why sliders are your friend. I really really hope EA does not do any kind of nerfing on the defense. That was the point of emphasis this years game. Making defense fun to play and tough to go against.

Just simply turn up your pass blocking slider or turn down the pass rush slider for the CPU or find the right sweet spot combo of both.

                  Don't dumb down the game...please.

Most people complain about the CPU taking too many sacks. Even Chris put it in his review. The CPU QB holds on the ball too long too many times.

I like that the users get sacked easily, if I have to throw the ball away at times, that would make me giddy with this game. I do hope that sliders will help the CPU O-line, so they can both block for passing and run plays.

Can anyone confirm if the juke moves are still too powerful?

When will the devs address the kicking issues for humans? Its always way to easy. We need sliders for human and cpu to be separate. More thought put into the mechanics.

So far I love what I have heard and seen for Madden!

If the sliders even close to coming to mimicking those in NCAA, the Intentional Grounding slider can help with this immensely. In the work done on the OS slider set, we found that IG at high levels will allow for the CPU QB to get rid of the ball more quickly (i.e. dump-offs to RBs and so on).

Agreed Sky.. I've played 3 full games and parts of several others (PS4 version), and to me never before have OL/DL matchups, or Pass Block protection audibles been more important. Also knowing where your hot or check downs are is crucial. As someone else mentioned, throwing the ball away is key now more than ever as well.

First couple of games on default AP, I tried to play like I always have and got my *** handed to me. Have to be smarter in pass game. At least from what I've seen in the games I've played.

I share everyone's concern they will nerf the pass defense. it would be a real shame if they did.

Exactly, the skills trainer is vastly improved, practice the drill where you change your OL protections at the line before the play. The game blows the whistle and stops you at the snap if you don't read where the pressure is coming from and make the right adjustment, ( slide right, slide left, pinch, or max protect) having said that, my issue isn't that Im getting sacked too often, it's that I'm getting to the QB a bit too often, as many have noted, the CPU QB holds the ball too long. On all-pro with default sliders, gonna try to adjust some today.

Awful to think they would downgrade the quality of their game.
