    Quarter Length

Anyone know if they are still doing the short quarter length for ultimate team this year?

I'm glad they didn't change this. Anything above 4min quarters online just seems too long.

Lol, I'm actually on the side that stop playing ultimate team due to that change.

I guess I have zero need to pick up the ultimate team edition now.

I really just can't even begin to understand this line of thinking. how can you have a football game where you get 3 or 4 possessions max? I had games in MUT25 where I got 1 possession. 1. in a football game. that's just plain stupid. the short quarters are like 90% of the reason people never punt. if you receive the ball and punt you might not get it back again for the rest of the game.

And now you have the chew clock feature in... it's going to be terrible. everyone is going to be milking clock, all of the fun of the game will be sucked out.

games should be at the very minimum 6 minutes long. 7 would be better. if you don't have time to play games that long... too bad. there are other game modes. if you don't have 1-2 hours to play an online game you can play offline. don't dumb down the online because it ruins the fun factor.

The purpose of MUT is to build your team and win Season Championships and progress through the tiers of competition. Shorter quarters allow more games to be played, therefor getting through more seasons providing more opportunities to win championships at higher tiers. Do you have very limited possessions? Absolutely, so this gives an even greater reward for forcing a turnover and places more importance on taking care of the football. I played around 150 games last year and when I got to the higher tier of competition, I knew once I made the stupid decision and threw a pick the game was most likely over, because whoever I was playing has enough experience he would not make that mistake, but I honestly enjoy playing at that high of competition level. I honestly had many very competitive and fun games last year, and I look forward to only an improved experience this year.

From what I've read in reviews, the improved defense has been a help in preventing as much cheese on offense. This should improve a players ability to get stops on defense only allowing for more possessions in the games.

The purpose of MUT is to have fun, and 3 minute quarters with accelerated clock AND a chew clock feature isn't fun. It's still football. you can't get a true fair winner out of 3 minute quarters. It's supposedly supposed to create a "fast paced experience" but all it does is slow the game down even more.

Turning the ball over should not be the end of a game. What you just described is ridiculous. I don't care who you are or how good you are, you will turn the ball over sometimes. And if you do, it shouldn't be the end of the game. There should be plenty of time in the games for comebacks.

At the very least they should allow you to choose from two different game lengths for seasons games. If people want to play illegitimate 3 minute 2 possession games that's fine, but I shouldn't be forced to.

I personally love the 3 minute quarters. More games played. In shorter times.

LOL... Exactly. That's why I only Punt when it's 4th and Long... Medium or Short? Going for it.
