I will be totally surprise if after the release of this game, Ram is still with EA NHL game. To miss EASHL, GM connected, OTP or LTL (thats what you get in trying to copy NBA MyCareer)... is unforgivable. If NHL 15 will have a tremendous decrease in sales, I am hoping that EA will seriously take an effort to improve in 16.

North American Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 sales have already been trending down since NHL 12:
NHL 08 -- 370,000
NHL 09 -- 740,000
NHL 10 -- 870,000
NHL 11 -- 980,000
NHL 12 -- 870,000
NHL 13 -- 770,000
NHL 14 -- 570,000
NHL 09 was the year with the largest growth, and that was the year the EASHL mode was first put in.
Coincidence? I think not.Last edited by Qb; 08-25-2014, 09:27 AM.Comment

This is kind of funny. If they did not revamp arenas, presentation, or rebuild gameplay, the hate towards the game would be exactly the same. Instead of missing modes, everyone would be crying it's a port and not worth the $60. Just go look at the forums for FIFA, Madden, The Show, etc. Also, I find it funny that when given an answer as to why something was or was not included, many don't believe the answer. There are some just looking for another reason to hate EA (some of it deserved, some of it not).
I think we forget how small budget and how small of a team works on this game. Plus instead of focusing on one game, they have to put full effort into two. All indications from people who have actually played the game says it feels much different (even though everyone who only watches the videos posted says its the same). Also, you have to remember that this is NHL and created by the same studio. There are elements of the gameplay that makes it unique to them and successful (NHL2K went away because consumers decided this game was better, they didn't buy the license like NFL and MLB). There's a core foundation that will never change, so it's unrealistic to someone expect a completely different game.
Would it have been nice to have EASHL at launch? Absolutely. However, OTP will be in this year via a patch. They are forming a committee (with fans of the series to be included) to better EASHL when it comes back next year. For those who say they don't care about the audience, I'm not sure why they would include us if they didn't care. Maybe I'm more reasonable because I mostly play offline, but I do enjoy playing some EASHL to mix it up. The mode will surely be missed, but it looks like they have a great plan in place to take the game to the next level. Like everything else today, we want it all and want it immediately, regardless if it's possible or not.Comment

I don't play EASHL or GM Connected but removal of Live The Life is upsetting.
They're taking away modes so we're forced to spend more time in HUT.INACTIVEComment

Bingo. It's not a coincidence hut was left in. Which is a shame because online wise it's pretty much just vs mode. Eashl is a totally different experience.Comment

I'm probably missing something here, but, will Season mode be added? I mean, c'mon now....before all the fancy GM modes & Be a Player modes, there was ALWAYS a season mode. Doesn't every sports game have a Season Mode? Some of us just so busy that all we want to do is get a game or 2 in, following the season of our fave team (NY Rangers) and be done until the next free moment. Is that too much to ask for??Comment

I would rather have season mode over playoff mode. It's the only way to actually utilise the CHL or European teams aside from Play Now. I want to play through a season with the Moncton Wildcats.
Hopefully we can use non-NHL teams in the upcoming playoff modePSN:Xplisit21
NFL:Kansas City Chiefs
NHL:Toronto Maple Leafs
NBA:Toronto Raptors
MLB:Toronto Blue Jays
NCAAF:Oregon Ducks
NCAAB:Kansas JayhawksComment

You don't have to justify your happiness to everyone to make it real.

Playoff Mode
Create a custom offline tournament bracket with up to 16 teams from any of the 12 leagues in the game. Play or simulate each game and track player and team stats throughout the tournament.NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - St Louis Cardinals
NCAA Football - Michigan Wolverines
NCAA Basketball - UK WildcatsComment

Re: No EASHL, GM Connected, OTP, or Live The Life in NHL 15 on XB1/PS4 (Interview)
Question: I know there’s not going to be a next-generation version of NHL 14 this year. Was there a reason for this? Was there not enough lead time up to when your studio got the final build of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Or did you want to just make sure you had a better quality product to put out the following year?
Sean Ramjagsingh: "We wanted to be focused on putting out the best game for this console generation. It’s fantastic that we focused all of our efforts on PS3 and 360. The great thing about EA Sports right now is the sharing that we’re doing. The UFC and FIFA franchises; those guys are figuring out how to develop for next-generation consoles and the technological challenges that come with developing for new consoles.
So they have to figure that part out and then build features on top of that. For us, since we’re coming in later on, we won’t have to battle all those technological issues because they’ve figured them out already. This lets us focus more on the features which is something fans can appreciate…"Last edited by Saint Iscah; 09-13-2014, 11:06 AM.Comment
