Need more time to select a play on defense...

Jeez there's hardly anytime to look at plays on defense before time runs out and it chooses one for you. Anyone else feel the same?

I've asked 3 times in the Q&A thread how to turn off the play clock (could do it in previous years) but no one seems to know.

It isn't a lot of time and I like to turn the play clock off for a few games and learn the offense/defense.

I have the two play clock options set to off but I didn't shut it off.

Definitely seems like less time than years past. Maybe they can patch this.

I like to sub players in and out on defense and it's impossible.

I'm going to need to dumb down my defensive playbook and eliminate a lot of stuff because I can't navigate through my plays with the new playcalling screen in enough time to get my play called

I don't have any issues with the play calling menu BUT would like the option to go back to old one.

And I'd like at least 5 more seconds to call plays.

I agree with most of the comments previously stated about the playcalling menu.

Not enough time for one, in my opinion. Also, I use the Formations tab to select my plays, but it always defaults back to the Coach Suggestions (any way to fix that?). Overall, the new playcalling menu just seems more clunky that last year's.

I completely agree and when you combine the lack of time with how atrocious the design of the playcall screen is it makes it brutal IMO.

It's things like this that are so blatantly obvious that absolutely amazes me that the game goes gold without it being flagged and fixed. How can anyone play/test the game and not realize that it's an issue?

I am having a hard time with the new screen. I understand how to get to things but it just doesn't gel well with quick play selections. I need more time with it, I think.

i'm having the same problem, especially because i like to read the reason why a certain play is suggested each time. maybe time and memorizing the playbook will eventually help but it would definitely be nice to have more time.

You couldn't turn off the play clock in CFM in Madden 25, and if I remember correctly, you couldn't turn it off in Madden 14, either. You could in Play Now, which makes it is a good mode in which to get to know your playbook.
