Kaepernicks contract isnt to far off what it is in real life. Game has it at 16.7M for 2014-2019. His real life contract is 12.4 Million in 2015 and 13.9 in 2016. 2017 jumps to 16.5 and keeps getting higher finishing at 21 million in 2020. Now the only part where the game really does bad is his 2020 salary is 26 million.

The fact Madden can't comprehend bonus money and potential bonus money is the problem. Kaeps deal is huge with bonus value but in real life San Fran has the option each year to give him his potential bonus money or not, madden or really any video game will never be able to comprehend that......... Same last year with Revis contract in Tampa

well also in real life the niners can cut Kaep after this season and there would be no penalty but in the game there is a $12 mil penalty i believe. This is supposed to be a team friendly contract to sign other players but as of right now in the game this will make it difficult to sing players the second year.. I will let you know once i sim past the first season.

Don't forget that there's 75 or so players on the roster which is why they're over by $2m. You can always release players before starting a 49ers CFM which will save you money because you won't have any cap penalties.

Honestly, I'd rather be tight against the cap then have way too much space, as has been the case in past Maddens.

The real-life Niners are going to have some tough decisions (good-bye Gore? Iupati? Crabtree?) next year. I don't have a problem if I have to face those same decisions.

I can't see them giving up Iupati or Crabtree. Gore on the other hand is a different story.

Especially if Carlos Hyde plays as well as they're expecting him to.

As for Madden, I noticed last night during my first CFM cut day that we're right up against the cap...tried to cut a guy with an 80k cap penalty on him & the game wouldn't let me do it.

Shouldnt be too tough to overcome. I was able to sign J. Finley, A. Samuel, and the highest rated CB (forgot his name) in free agency after cutting some ppl and trading away (no1 significant) some others.

They definitely need to re-do the contract structuring system in the game, as it stands there is just salary (non guaranteed) and bonus money(guaranteed). They need to add in guaranteed salary money and roster bonuses. I'm using the Bears for my CFM and they have Cutler's deal as 7 years, 126 million with a bonus of 0. Technically they're right because he didn't receive a signing bonus, but his first three years are guaranteed

I bet that you won't be able to sign neither one because of the salary cap problems in the game
