    Unrealistic Player Cuts (spoilers)

So far I've noticed a couple second round picks released after preseason in Jarvis Landry and Bishop Sankey.

Has anyone else seen this or any other strange releases?

The same for me and it is a chore getting all of these guys back on their respective teams.

Yeah I started a franchise last night and saw a large number of rookie rbs get cut. Not Sankey, but Terrance West, Andre Williams, Latavius Murray, etc. Damn near all of em. The CPU cut down to 3 HBs on every team so if they already had 3 RBs rated higher than the rookies they got cut.

I simmed my Redskins CFM Preseason, and they cut Ryan Clark..

I've had to just pretend that there was some off the field issue that went down which led to it to keep my story somewhat realistic.. even that isn't likely :\

This was a big issue in previous years as well. This game is sounding more and more like a wasted purchase this year. For the much improved gameplay, they took 10 steps back for CFM.

This is a major issue! It ruins the franchise experience completely.

I've seen Paul Richardson, Andre Williams, Charles Sims, Ryan Clark, Kendell Hunter, Jarvis Landry and a bunch more. The stupid "scheme" is causing most of these problems. This is inexcusable not being able to have real draft classes is bad enough.

I've brought up this issue and several others on twitter, but the devs only seem to respond to bugs/questions regarding MUT. :/

Donny Moore's ratings basically ruin 75% of this game, unfortunately. I bet you if EA used FBG ratings, none of this **** would happen. His terrible ratings affect gameplay, game prep, CPU AI in CFM and much more than you think! If the ratings were accurate, the gameplay would be much smoother and realistic, and you would actually be able to separate the good players from the bad and the CPU wouldnt make such dumb roster moves

Cause those people are still paying for the game after buying it.

Both Ryan Clark and Santana Moss were cut when I simmed my CFM

                          Re: Unrealistic Player Cuts (spoilers)

The reason these cuts happen is due to, in combination, the scheme-specific OVR ratings, the player ratings themselves, and the general roster management logic.

The scheme-specific OVR ratings adjust how the AI teams value different players based on specific ratings. So a power RB will have a higher OVR rating based on higher STR and TRK, for example, regardless of his SPD. The user may view how another team rates its players in the Contracts screen.

The next piece of the puzzle is the player ratings themselves. On the default roster and default OVR rating calculation, Titans rookie RB Bishop Sankey is a 73 OVR, behind Shonn Greene (77), Leon Washington (74), and Jackie Battle (74). Presumably, the Titans AI is deciding there's no need for a fourth RB, or they may have picked up a better RB off the trade block or free agency because none of those options are very spectacular.

There's finally the AI itself. While the AI does appear to take youth into account in doing its business as I've seen plenty of older players get cut in favor of younger ones (and the AI favors younger players in the offseason unrestricted free agency negotiations as well), I'm guessing that that AI doesn't really give a rip if a guy is specifically a rookie. Rare in the NFL is it that a guy drafted in the first four rounds doesn't make the team. If there's something that needs to change in CFM, perhaps flagging guys from the top four rounds to give them more weight in the AI roster cutdown process would be prudent.

Jackie Battle and Leon Washington should not be rated higher than Bishop Sankey period. Of course the CPU would cut Sankey instead of the other two just for that reason
