Let me clarify the penalties question though... Are they not OCCURRING, or are they not being CALLED. In 14, for me, I see a ton of penalties, but not called, like the interference calls I can make or have against me... This drives me wild when I set an open player up and he gets checked into the 4th row before the puck arrives, sometimes before I even pass it to him.
If it's in the slot it's a correct no call. That is the only place it is legal to check someone without the puck. However, it still should be charging 90% of the time, because you can take way more than 2 strides at someone and level them.

I don't think that's true, you can tie someone's stick up and box them out in the slot more without getting a penalty, but you can't run them over anywhere when they don't have the puck. 100% of the time if you flatten an opponent without the puck it's a penalty.

Do you mind showing me this from the NHL rule book... Because you are very mistaken with that claim, interference ANYWHERE without the puck, is interference.

I think there are still a few calls missed, especially interference when racing for the puck aswell as some boarding calls.
She asked me to tell her the three words every girl wants to hear, so I whispered "Go Avs Go" in her ear.
