any answers for the cpu's robo qb?

I have tried several slider sets and cant seem to stop the cpu from passing at will. I am talking about around 90% completion rates from average qb's. Any help at all is appreciated.

Tune CPU QB Accuracy to about 1. That gets their completion percentage down to 65-80%, which is hella better than 90-100%.

You could also decrease their WR slider.

I know you said you tried the sliders forum already, Armor & Sword has a good base set, which you can end up tweaking yourself a bit to play how you like it.

With that said, CPU QB accuracy at 10 (from A&S's slider set) seems to help stop the lower-tiered QBs from being the "robo" QB you mention. You'll see errant passes from them still, and the better QBs will still do okay, without as many errant passes as the lower tier of QBs. It's a good balance.

I know what you mean about that robo QB too, especially against QBs who shouldn't be putting up great numbers against an okay secondary.

I still prefer robo qb over not being able to get a cpu passing game going.

To each their own, but I don't like seeing someone like Chad Henne on the Jags throwing a high 70+% completion for a game. There is a balance you can find with sliders though.

I 100% agree with you viking. So far this is the only gripe I have with the game. One example. I was the Jets hosting the Raiders and Schaub was at one stage 24/27. Another example. I'm the Bears hosting the Bills and Emanuel starts the game going 5/5. I'm using Charter04's sliders with some tweaks so my CPU QB's accuracy is set to 5!! I would have thought that would be enough!! They just seem to ALWAYS make the perfect audible/read.

If you can stomach playing on 'Pro' the QB's play much more human-like; even with the sliders at default.

I couldn't take 'Pro' because the CPU doesn't seem to try as hard -- if that makes any sense...so I'm back on 'All Madden' and I'm getting decent results with QB Accuracy at 1 and WR Catching at 40.

While the QB accuracy does need to be toned down I believe a major part of the problem is the WRs' ability to catch the ball. Yeah, they added in more "slightly inaccurate" passes this year but it seems as though the receivers find a way to suction them in as long as they're within an arm's reach. I see receivers making one handed and behind the back catches repeatedly.

Speaking of odd things, I was playing the Broncos, and Manning and co literally opened with four consecutive runs. By the end of the first half they ran twice as much as they passed and had 10 points to show for this "brilliant" strategy- this from a team averaging almost 40 a game.

Yes, this has proven to be a major problem this year, too. WR's, even the most avg. wideouts, appear to be making acrobatic catches. I haven't played too many games against the CPU - but I've noticed this quite bit during my first week of playing.

Re: any answers for the cpu's robo qb?

Yes, the secret to toning down the cpu pass game is to focus not on qb accuracy but wr catching. I put wr catching at 25 (and int at 25 as well to compensate) and actuallu had a qb pass for less than 50% on all-pro. I was the pats and i beat the bengals 27-13 (10-10 at halftime) with daulton going something like 19 for 32. He still threw for over 200 yards and had 1 pick. He got injured for a few plays and his back up threw 1 td so if he wasn't out he'd have 1 td and 1 pick.

I read that qb accuracy affects if a qb will throw long bomb downfield so if you leave it at 50 they will still throw, and make, pretty accurate passes for long gains.

I figured that wr catching at 25 would be the answer because I noticed that wrs would catch pretty much any ball thrown near them no matter how close the defender is or how hard they are hit during the catch (almost as if the ball is made of velcro). When i put it at 25 i saw a good amount of dropped catches from the bengals mediocre wrs while they were getting hit or when the pass wasnt perfectly accurate. Aj Green on the other hand had a few good catches that only an elite wr would make.

thanks for the feedback all, I am toning down wr catching asap.

wow, played 1 quarter with wr catching, cpu at 25. Henne went 1-7 for 5 yards lol. I have some tuning to do for my skill level but I see now its possible.

                          Many thanks.

I heard one guy say that the intentional grounding slider affects this somehow

IG affects how likely the qb will throw the ball away to avoid a sack. The lower the slider to more likely he'll trow it away.
