Halifax Black is great...anything done by Yetti is also really good. I played the 2 courses that OS'er Lieutenant Dan created and both are very good too.Go Yankees

Played Bluff Valley last night, really liked that courseI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: The Golf Club favorite courses
Hitchens Valley Hotel and Golf Club has been my favorite so far. All the courses by Dr. Yeti have been really good with Stone Hollow being my fav. Still need to play Haunted Forest.
I've played Dunwoody Leicht also and, overall I thought it was a good course but a few of the greens approach circus status IMO. Some of the pin placements where right on some decent and fast inclines similar to the circus pins issue of TW14. It was one of the first courses I played so maybe I should revisit it since I'm more familiar with the game now.
I love challenging course and I don't mind shooting in the black but, I don't what circus greens to become the norm. I've played a handful of course that where really good expect for the crazy greens so I gave them low ratings. Give me challenging but realistic, that's what I'm looking for and will get my highest rating.
I use the site http://www.pocketscout.us/The-Golf-Club/ to help me find courses. It's a pretty good site and I've thought about joining so I could review courses, just haven't done it yet. Wasn't the site started by an OS'er, for some reason I keep think that it was?Last edited by rolltide1017; 09-02-2014, 02:30 PM.Comment

Re: The Golf Club favorite courses
There are definitely some fantastic courses out there. It's amazing what some people are creating.
Some of my favorites (in addition to the ones already listed) are:
Ross Hollow
Crawford Mines
Boulders Pointe (very demanding)
Pine Marsh CC
Blue Valley (although some of the pin locations seem a bit unfair)
I echo Pocketscout.com for finding beautiful, quality courses.Comment

Re: The Golf Club favorite courses
Really liked these two courses, and they are very different experiences. Note, both set to hardest difficulty.
-Whistling Straits: hilly course based on the Kohler, WI version I assume. Not familiar with course enough to verify authenticity. Due to the hills they are very VERY tough greens. Fun challenge.
-TPC @ Sahalee: also based on the PGA course near Sammamish, WA; even though i havent verified the accuracy. Only reason i searched it is because I grew up close to there and went to PGA Championship there in late 90's. Anyway, tight tree lined fairways. Not much room for error. A few opportunities to shape shots, strategy in placement is key to setting up ideal approach shots.Comment

I like Whistling Straits, its not authentic though. you can really shoot low if you use the undulation of the greens to your advantage.Comment

Re: The Golf Club favorite courses
Played Spring Lake GC of Canada earlier after seeing it mentioned here, lovely course with some great holes. It's a crime so few people have played it, think it said its only had 8 plays so far!Comment
