Cowboys Find New Ownership After Jones Continues Passion
Solar Icon Bobby Mansfield To Take Ownership of Team

Valley Ranch, TX - The Owners of the National Football League unanimously approved the transfer of ownership of the Dallas Cowboys from former owner Jerry Jones to West Texas Solar CEO Bobby Mansfield after Jones unexpectedly announced that he was moving on to other projects. The team was reportedly sold at the hefty price tag of $5.4 Billion this summer. Jones told reporters that his main reason for selling the team was his other passion.

"Gene and I are big in helping the community and part of that is acquiring artwork that enriches everybody's lives" Jones said outside a local watering hole. " I believe in giving back in my name and in the name of all of Dallas."

Jones this summer was part of an article that listed his time with the Dallas Cowboys. Everything ranging from a conversation with Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson to a love of Johnnie Walker Blue was covered. It has been rumored that Jones is in negotiations with Diageo to place a new distillery in North Texas specifically for the production of Scottish-style whiskey.

Mansfield on the other hand has found what he calls his "American Dream." Mansfield started his career in the oil business, but his dream was on the football fields of West Texas. Mansfield played high school football, but went to college on an academic scholarship. After busting out on oil, Mansfield founded West Texas Solar and has now made his fortune on the booming renewable energy market in Texas.

"I made my money from the sun, but I am having my fun starting right now," said Mansfield at a pre-prepared press conference yesterday. "I've always loved football and now I own America's Team. This is a great moment for me, my family, and all those who love the guys in blue."

Mansfield has been meeting personnel with the team including Coach Jason Garrett. Mansfield has told the media that the staff will stay in place for this year with one exception: General Manager.

"I will be starting a search for a new GM," said Mansfield. "I think Jones has done as good a job as he could have done, but I think I will be a little more hands off."

Cowboys Find Way To Win First Preseason Game
Dunbar, Okoye Impress During Cowboys' 24-17 Win

San Diego, CA - The Dallas Cowboys scored twenty-four points after the first team left the field to defeat the San Diego Chargers by the score of 24-17. In the game, Lance Dunbar scored two touchdowns and had 113 total yards while backup defensive tackle Amobi Okoye recorded two sacks and insured his place on the team until the end of training camp.

The First Team played for the first quarter, and in the two drives that produced in that period quarterback Tony Romo went 3/6 for 29 yards and two interceptions. Both teams were shaky to start the game, but Romo's interceptions were notable since they were thrown in back to back plays. In addition, running back DeMarco Murray only ran for seven yards in five carries. The problems led to questions for Romo after the game about his game readiness.

"I had some bad throws and that's something I'm working on," said Romo. "I will be ready for week one; there's no doubt about that."

The Second Team played the rest of the game. Brandon Weeden went 15/18 with 149 yards of passing and three touchdowns. Lance Dunbar scored twice with three receptions, and ran for 103 yards. Dunbar was excited about his performance on the field after the game.

"I really felt good out there; everything was running at full speed," said Dunbar. "I think this will translate and I feel really good about where we are."

There are some within the Cowboys' organization that feel that Dunbar could compete for the starter's position at running back as well. Some unnamed sources stated after the game that as of right now, Dunbar is ahead of Murray in the depth chart. Head Coach Jason Garrett however told a different story at the press conference.

"Both of our running backs are doing well and DeMarco [Murray] is still our guy," said Garrett in annoying monotone. "Obviously they are still playing hard for the football club and will continue to work hard for the football club."

The Cowboys now are looking forward to moving back to North Texas as they prepare to take on the Baltimore Ravens.

                Cowboys Survive Sloppy Game 12-9
Penalties and Injury to DeMarco Murray Highlight Rough Second Pre-Season Game

Arlington, TX - The Dallas Cowboys survived their second pre-season game with a 12-9 victory at AT&T Stadium over the Baltimore Ravens, but not without sloppy play and injuries. Dez Bryant did not last past the first quarter without having the wind knocked out of him, but the main injury was to DeMarco Murray on the second play of the first drive.

Murray dislocated his hip on a two yard loss and has been diagnosed with a dislocated hip that will keep him out until at least week two. This gave running back Lance Dunbar enough play time to run for 121 yards along with a touchdown after a 51 yard run. Tony Romo went 5/8 with 42 yards in the air, and the Cowboys' first team scored ten unanswered points in their time on the field.

"I felt like we were ready to play in week one," Dunbar said after the game. "We were moving the ball well in the first half and our defense was good for stopping [Baltimore's] pass attack."

The Cowboys will travel to Miami on Friday before coming back home to take on the Denver Bronchos. Coach Jason Garrett feels like his team will be ready for their September 7th showdown with San Francisco.

"Our football team played well in most of the three phases," Garrett said after having his batteries changed. "We had some problems in the phases toward the end of the game, but we were able to get together on the defense phase for our football team."
