I only care for created players and it seems you can make players. If that is in the game then patching edit players shouldn't be so hard. Let's really hope they do some UFC enhancing here.

Man what a disappointment this has turned out to be. I wasn't crazy about the demo and it sounds like things haven't really changed at all. I'm really glad I picked up Madden this year, it's actually quite good and will save me the $60 I would've spent on this.

I understand the negativity of the board, as nhl 15 is missing A LOT traditional features and the dev team should get flak for it. But me....I don't care of being a GM, drafting, trading, editing goalies. I just want a solid authentic game experience ON ICE.

So can we get more gameplay impressions? If the gameplay is solid without any player edits:

          1) good scoring feel
          2) no cpu robo-passing
          3) cpu defenders are pretty aggressive on the blue line..
          4) no comeback AI
          5) playing the kings is significantly different and harder than playing the flames.
          6) 3-4 penalties a game per team.

I can play the game using PLAY NOW exclusively until next year. I really can....

I realize that doesn't have a good chance of happening with nhl 15, but the demo's more aggressive CPU D-men gave me hope for this series. Also, the elimination of cpu robo passing was a huge surprise for me. these were 2 of my 3 biggest gameplay complaints for the last 5 years. The 3rd being not enough penalties. If people play 12 minute periods and can get 7-8 penalties on average per game....then that would be great.

more on ice gameplay impressions please

          thanks

I'm dying to hear or see footage from the ps3 and 360 version. I would pay $60 for the upgraded rosters and nbcsn package. I am hoping some people with the season ticket are able to chime in soon.

Im new to this series, but I can understand all the people pissed about features of the game. When you all have been playing it for years.

But from a total new ea nhl player Im liking it. Im just 4:00min into a game and have had a slashing and another player in the penalty box. Playin on all star hardcore setting and havin a blast so far.

Having said that, this is completely unacceptable. It almost feels like they're trying to alienate their fanbase.

I'm very aware of how some software companies won't give you the 'house-and-the-farm' on the very first iteration of a new console, but this is ridiculous.

Here's to hoping they patch the snot out of this game, sort of like UFC is doing.
And as someone just say in that tread we had a demo with all teams! great!

The only way this game has ever been remotely playable is with edited rosters, and that is no longer possible. I wouldn't even be able to attempt going back to online modes because those aren't even there. I truly don't want to demean anyone who says this is a good effort, but I'm beyond baffled how anybody can think that. This game lacks the most basic features that have been included in basically every sports game the past however many years. I'm jealous that people can expect such a small effort from a development team. The good thing is we get to chose if we buy it. There's no other options except for past NHL 2k games and last gen EA games, but that's life I guess. People may find the game good now, but I think the majority of people won't be saying that in 2 months. The NHL season won't have even been a month in at that point.

Honestly if the sales are at an all time low I think EA will make major changes. Either the dev team gets replaced, or there is no hockey game next year at all. I know this is massively jumping the gun but I think we may be without a new hockey game next year. The only thing standing in the way that I could see is the NBC contract. I have no idea about the details of that though.

Yeah, should not get rid of the dev team. I don't believe this is on them. I don't think they're the ones who are calling the shots on what gets put in and what doesn't.

The game is fantastic, feels way different from the demo.
Love the 12 man physics, nice, very notable addition.
Waving jerseys, love it, adds a ton to the game.
Its amazing how every player feels totally different when controlling them. Been asking for this for years! 1st and 4 th liners =night and day difference.
Graphics are fantastic, life like OMG! Glad I upgraded to next gen.
Missing modes? Who cares I can play HUT for ever.
Gone is the up down hockey of years past, you really need to play real hockey.
Player AI fantastic its like each player has there own little brain WOW !!
Play by play is great exciting and on the money. Doc is not annoying at all.
This is really next gen !!!!!

YEAH RIGHT, RIP EA HOCKEY !! I gave it a fair chance i'm done till 2017 maybe longer.

This kind of thing is nothing new to EA or other game companies for that matter. With every new generation of gaming system, and this goes all the way back to SMS to Genesis, the first batch of games for the new system is all glitz intended to show off the fancy new graphics of the machine. Remember the first Madden for the Xbox 360? Funny thing is, at least from what I've seen in the demo....they didn't even do that in NHL 15. The game looks pretty much like NHL 14 on the 360....a couple of new camera angles but basically the same look in graphics as the previous game system. Pretty sorry effort IMOP. I think I wait till Black Friday or for the bargain bins for this one.

This thread has put me in a rough spot. I'm disappointed in all the mistakes in reading about concerning Be A Gm. I play that now exclusively when I'm playing solo, and I only play Battle for the Cup when playing with friends. I subscribe to thought that my dollar is my vote. Where I'm feeling conflicted is if I buy, I'm conceding that this is acceptable. If I don't buy, along with many others, it sends the message that this game isn't worth Ea or the development teams time.

Most likely I will wait until I can find a sale.

i'm getting tired of EA which downgrades each of its sports series at new gen consoles launch.
