They do need a season and playoff mode patched in and hopefully a player editor. The demo sure didn't show graphics like 2k did w the nba. I'm waiting to see what they do bc I generally play against someone in a season or playoff mode or against CPU. I don't really care about ahl or other modes but some do and eashl was a piss off for them.
I just hope they make differences in teams and players more noticeable instead of everyone playing the same and w the same ability.
Let's hope Sony studios or 2k make a next gen hockey game.

Holy cow, I'm scared here. I've been slammed at work last week and will be this week. I haven't been really reading gaming pages (maybe because I wrongfully assumed things were included). I am itching for NHL so bad because I didn't get it two years ago and I skipped last year knowing I was going next gen...but you're telling me, as a guy who doesn't do HUT, doesn't play online, and just enjoys a season vs. teams with the most current players, I cannot get this? WTF. I'm seriously thinking about jetting up to GS and cancelling before it's too late. To me, NHL was the perfect season game. The season games were realistic and you didn't have to invest an hour per game. NFL is too short, and the NBA is too long (if you bump up the time to get realistic results). I just cannot fathom trying to play a game where I can't change uniforms, will see Ovechkin traded to the Jets for a draft pick, and have to worry about raising the prices of soda so I can upgrade the toilets to have happy fans.


Last I read about this game was from Game Informer saying how great it is, etc. I think companies like EA are so big now, they just pay to have one of their PR guys write an article and put it in places. I rely on things like that to determine my purchases, but I feel a little bait and switch...or empty promises.

While I will slam them for things that are true, this is false. Be a GM (season/franchise mode) is in. Albeit a very stripped down version, but it is indeed in. The online GM connected was removed.

OK, I just saw so many threads on so many websites and I kinda got really worried really quickly. So, as a season guy who likes to keep rosters the same (unless they change in real life), do you think I would be happy? Would I be able to make a trade on two teams I don't control? No. You can't control more than your team. You can't play a single season mode. You can only play a stripped down GM mode. You can opt to turn CPU trades off, but that will be your only control over the rest of the league. You cannot edit players at all either.

I was totally going to buy this, would be the first hockey game Ive owned since the early 2000's but with the lackluster of modes no way would I pay 60$...Just gonna wait for Fifa

I'm totally new to Hockey this year (Real or Virtual) and I was going to get this game on Tuesday like everyone else. However, I've been reading the backlash that EA has been getting for what NHL 15 is turning out to be, and I will have to wait it out and see what and if they will patch in later.



Honestly, even from a armature hockey fan I also felt like the demo seemed very bare-boned with the menus very plain and kind of generic. Maybe because I'm used to the other sports leagues who have games with tons of stuff thrown in to keep gamers busy all year long. BTW, I was appalled by the last gen NHL 14 -15 comparison video.

Then I came here and seen what people were all complaining about, and right away remembered how bare the menu screens were and how hollow the demo felt. Yes, I know it's a demo. But even then there still seems to be a bit of weight to it like the UFC did. I totally side with the fans here who got their game short changed this year for whatever reasons that may be. As much as I love the Madden this year, there are a lot of bugs and glitches that are still peeving me 2 weeks later. (This has to be the buggiest madden to date IMO) I see NHL 15 has some bugs of it's own. I've already seen a madden like glitch in a YT video already, and I'm thinking this might get very interesting to say the least.

Now someone might jump up and say. "Well, it's not fair to get mad because we don't know what the story behind it is..... blazzy blah." That's the problem, we don't know why and how come it's taken up to 3 days before launch of this highly anticipated game of what the deal is. Also as to why fans have to scout out EA's Early Access to inform other paying customers/fans and possible NHL's future hockey fans (me) of your product because we are to be left in the dark.

I'm not bashing EA, I'm calling the cards that I see laid out before me and other fans, and if they or someone doesn't like it. Then hey, they are entitled to their opinion just like I'm entitled to mine.

Now with my first impressions rant out of the way. I do have one question.
I've read that there will be no other leagues in the game this year, yet in the team select mode (demo and full game) there is a button for "Random League" (Y). Are they available but just in exhibition mode?

This just made my decision whether to buy FIFA 15 or NHL 15 soooooooo much easier......if all of this is truly missing from the final game, what a joke!!!!

It saddens me as a huge hockey fan to have to skip this. NHL is usually one of my must buys. Heck look at my avatar. Not happy that Hockey is gonna be a void this year. I have to refrain from speaking further because I do not want to be banned for developer bashing. But that statement alone I think expresses my displeasure enough.

Well I really cant add much more to what has already been said as I only really play BFTC and Playoff mode but welcome back to 2007 in 2014 mode wise and if History repeats itself most modes may trickle back by 2017-18 as all brand new to the ps4 .

Ea really did more damage by not just being honest , explaining or even just lying to our faces on why or how the games been gutted of all their basic modes and when the might return as I love the game play and might have been more forgiving but their silence speaks volumes .

Sounds about right since all you can do, season wise, is play Be a GM and that's for NHL teams only.

They forgot so many things in that game that I guess they won't mind some of us forgetting to buy the game.

I guess there will so many brand new modes in NHL 16 on the next-gen that it will take two boxes to show them all.

I'll confirm that for you. No, you cannot do that.
