I think the game's engine is solid, they just need to reach the same level of refinement they had in 2K14 for 360/PS3. I feel like next gen was a little slow on the responsiveness and it only got worse when you went online.

If they focus on refining the gameplay, adding modes/adding to the modes we already have, and having stable servers 2K never has to worry about competition.

I think we're all so spoiled by 2K that we expect too much when we have a very good game in front of us.

...And no I'm no fanboy, I can point out a ton of issues but I also understand the work that's put into these games year in year out lol.
Completely agree with the spoiled comment. The game has been one of the best sports titles year in and year out however that causes all of its faults and imperfections to be highlighted and critiqued, no matter how big or small the issue is.

The trouble with 2k, and sports games in general, is that we look at the games on a year to year basis instead of judging games individually. If we look at 2k15 without considering and comparing it to 2k14 or any other 2k basketball title the game looks like a fantastic recreation of basketball and the nba. Not perfect but great. However when the other installment are taken into account we start breaking down how much or how little the game changed, what problems have or have not been fixed, whats new vs whats old. And as a result we don't enjoy the game for what it is, we criticize it for what it isn't.

Didn't really see anything new. Not really no new animations or anything. Seems like 2K14 so far.

Again, I am happy I skipped 2K14 because the graphics and gameplay will all be new to me. But from the YT vids I watched, looks pretty much the same. Can't wait to hear more about other modes though.

And, I always thought the arm sleeves pad was a little too big.

Exactly, if you take other games that come out every 2 or 3 years like Battlefield, Gears of War, Halo...stuff like that, you get a clear picture of how far the graphics have come and gameplay improvements.

Take 2K9 then look at (what people usually say is the best) 2K11, crazy difference.
The past couple last gen games (2K13/14) basically pushed the limits of the consoles so there wasn't gonna be a graphical difference but now you got next gen consoles with so much more power the sky's the limit.

It would be cool as hell to have like connected franchise/myplayer like in Madden, that's the only thing I really want them to add..besides bringing crew back lol

I give 2K credit because the only game imo that took a step back is 2K12, every other game off the top of my head has been an improvement. Most companies can't say that.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

I didn't read all of the comments yet, but I don't know how anyone can say "it looks the same" in a negative way. 2K last year not only set the next gen bar graphically for sports games, it was arguably the show piece for next gen visuals across the board. You probably won't see drastic art or graphical changes on that until 2K17 and they shouldn't over haul it until then in my opinion. I remember these boards a year ago, before and after release, where people were saying things like all they needed to do was add modes and features for the next couple of years and remove VC from association. All of that seems to have been done, still not enough. I'm more realistic. It's still a video game so it will never be perfect, but those clips look fun to me

I don't think I understand what "sliding/ warping" means to some people...seems like it's just the thing to say when some 2k footage is shown...

I skipped on NBA 2K14 because of the lack of Association Mode. With the My League Mode this is a definite purchase.

Re: NBA 2K15 Gameplay Video - Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

These gameplay videos rarely do anything for me anymore. I know what the game is going to basically look like in motion at this point. 2k15 will be a more polished version of 2k14. Basketball is basketball. How different a foot plant looks from 2k14 to 2k15 doesn't interest me whatsoever.

However, show me a video of what I can do in MyLeague/MyCareer this year and what it looks like IN MOTION, and I'm down for watching an hour of that.

Their options are to either continue improving the formula, or start from scratch so that in a few years the game will reach a level that was previously not possibld due to the game engine.
They could still work with 2 diffrent development teams. Naughty Dog does that and 2k should be financialy secure enough to pull this off. Someday they just HAVE to and I'm sure they are not dumb enough to rebuild within a one year span.

Maybe they do this the very moment we're speaking. Guess I gotta put my hopes on 2k16.

This doesn't mean by any means that I won't addicte myself to 2k like in any year of recent memory, I just wish for that wow moment 2k7 gave me.

Basically everything I was going to say has been said, HOWEVER...to the people saying Kevin Love looks great, it's the EXACT same as last year. The only thing is they fixed w.e the hell was wrong with his eyes in 2k14 and now he doesn't look like he's about to fall asleep all the time. He has a entirely new haircut now so not only does that throw him off to me, but his headshape is weird, something about it doesn't look like him. Then there is the legacy issue 2k has with players' eye color. For whatever reason, stars can't get the correct eye color and Love is one of them:

                      Stephen Curry(hazel), Chris Paul(light brown), Kevin Love(blue)

I love how people see a 4 and a half minute video and say there are no new gameplay improvements. Really people?
Ironically people have made crazier assumptions about the less than 2 minutes of footage we have seen from Live 15. Comments range from "this game looks like garbage. Live is dead." To 'Wow this game looks great! So many improvements over Live 14". IMO videos can only show you so much with sports games. Animations, graphical, and presentation improvements can be seen through video but it doesn't quite show how a game plays and feels, especially from short clips.

Just read it...think we look as sliding as two different things....it was clearly a bad transition animation WB did trying to get in between 2 players...I think things like that are going to happen,..it"a not like he slid to get in front of a Kyrie drive...

The Love example I agree with though, hadn't caught it the first time...suck in animation on the face up...games haven't seemed to figure out those kind if angles yet....

Still looks way too similar to the previous iteration to me. I think I'm getting a PS4 soonish, but I don't think I'll be picking this one up. I just hope something lights a fire under 2K soon, because the series just isn't moving enough for me at this point.
