I have no problem with guys bitching and complaining. Go ahead and make your voice heard. But you can't also be surprised at the amount of people actually enjoying the game.
Also, the nonsense about how "casual" fans would enjoy this more, is a bunch of garbage. I've been going to Blackhawks games since the early 80's, and I've played hockey all the way into my 30's. So please spare me with that.
The missing modes on next-gen and basically the direct port to last-gen are obviously unacceptable, but the most important aspect which is GAMEPLAY, is pretty damn good.
I'm also not going to write a novel, nor provide videos to prove my point. I'm too busy enjoying the game. Thanks.Comment

Well stated.
The "this game just appeals to the casual fan" line always annoys me, too. I'm a huge hockey fan, I just know what to expect from the game, and I've always enjoyed playing it.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Because there is no other hockey to buy.....When EA killed the PC version that we modded and made the way we wanted to (which means so can they) we were left with little choice than to play this or nothing. That being said I can deal with it not being perfect I usually find sliders to make it good enough to play and enjoy a season but this half assed effort they released is just a joke a total joke......again its not even about the missing modes the laziness or lack of care is just noticeable everywhere with this game. We can agree to disagree.I don't know why people who want a hardcore hockey sim keep buying this game.
I'm a big hockey fan, but I accept the game for what it is, a fun and slightly arcade hockey game.
I just don't think this crusade against EA is productive. It's like people seriously think the devs don't want to release the best game they possibly can.

That is all fine and great, but you also seem more worried about people posting specific, detailed examples of their impressions that do not fit into what you are seeing with your experiences than you are in actually going off and playing/enjoying the game, from what I can tell. The missing modes on next-gen and basically the direct port to last-gen are obviously unacceptable, but the most important aspect which is GAMEPLAY, is pretty damn good.

Re: NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here
You really need to go get a cpu sim hockey game and drop it already with your agenda type attitude as you dont speak for many accept a few hardcores as most of us here are Hardcore NHL but its a video game of hockey and not a forced sim you have no little input in.Here's the thing, it's 2014 and we have the same tools on defense as Blades of Steel with a couple more game modes. It's not a bad game but it's not what us hardcore guys want. It's also the only choice. People have put up very, very good detailed posts about what to fix. We get jerseys flapping. Instead of taking a few steps to overhaul AI we get new fighting engines. Instead of stick on stick collisions we get HUT.
If you want mlbts on ice forget it as EA NHL 15 is a hu interactive game first and sim doesnt strongly override that so what you do on the ice really matters and win or lose it feels pretty amazing IF YOU FIND YOUR SLIDERS AND SKILL LEVEL
.
What your looking for is strat o matic hockey great stats and nothing but random dice rolls and I think its on cpu too now so once again this is a impressions thread so if you have a agenda or ax to grind call EA or go to there website and stop trying to scare everyone off of the game as we all know of its mode short comings as some of us just want to enjoy the game .

Re: NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here
I'm not surprised at all that people are liking it....Hell if I just mess with some sliders and do a play now I can have fun with it. I also have nothing against anyone liking it casual or hardcore. That's what this thread is and its good to get both impressions of the game. I guess to sum up my beef is I like to do more than just a play now and I keep trying to accept it for what it is and find a way to enjoy somewhat of what I have been used too since NHL2001, which is doing a season. with that mode gone I keep trying to find a way around it in BeaGM but everyday I find something else that's just not going to let that be possible. Also if were all honest about it, despite knowing about the missing modes and no matter how much you may like the game play and how it looks, its simplistic contents had to be a surprise to you. I don't think any of us saw this coming.I have no problem with guys bitching and complaining. Go ahead and make your voice heard. But you can't also be surprised at the amount of people actually enjoying the game.

Re: NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here
Listen, we are all getting off topic here. This thread is to post impressions of the game. If you do not agree with someone's impressions then you are not wrong, but to keep rehashing that you like or dislike the game in spite of what is being shown or posted is not productive and doesn't fit the purpose of this thread.
I am sorry to those of you that I have upset with posting my impressions and reasons for them. I don't know what to tell you other than to please just ignore me. I don't mean to ruffle your feathers. Obviously I find lots of faults and flaws in the NHL series. I don't feel as though these should not be brought to light or pointed out, however.
If you are having fun with the game, which is totally acceptable, I have found that it is probably best to step away from the forums for a bit or at the very least be very selective in what you click and read or watch. Otherwise it is easy to realize all that is negative in this game and perhaps highlights it in even more of a fashion than what would've been otherwise.
I end this with a point that I have made before; If you like what you are playing that is great, you get to keep playing it and have fun. I am envious. But if you are like me and stuck with a less than stellar product that you feel just doesn't meet up to the industry standards, and not even the standards in my own head but that of those that are of precedent not only within other video games but prior NHL products themselves, then your only recourse is to speak out in the hopes of being heard and that one day your problems will be touched upon and improved. Because being around this industry enough has taught me that without the fan feedback these games may never change.
Have a good day.Comment

Lol, that's so condescending. "Stay away from the forums so you won't realize that the game sucks!"
But as Three King said, it's fine that some people don't like it and are voicing that. There are parts of the game I don't like, and it's obviously important to have a discourse about those things. The constant negativity and EA bashing just gets old.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Not worried at all, but the only reason I stated that, is because it seems like there are some guys who keep repeating the same things over and over, or are complaining just to complain. It's like, 'we get it'.
There's plenty of negatives about this game that I'm aware of:
-missing modes
-AI is HORRIBLE
-gameplay graphics are not what they should be. Cutscenes are good.
-already have seen a few annoying bugs
-penalties seem decent, but need to be tweaked.
-Etc.
Positives:
+actual gameplay keeps me coming back.
+sliders are working for the most part.
+PUCK PHYSICS!!!
+presentation is flat out awesome
+etc.
All those positives could obviously use work, but I'm willing to see what these devs do with their patches. That's why I won't bash this game. At least not yet. Gameplay is too good right now for me not to.
Having said all that, there's ALWAYS room for improvement.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here
I'm sorry, that wasn't my intent at all.
I was stating that from a personal perspective of having to work at fan forums for years that I have found that it is sometimes best to get away from the feedback.
I know firsthand that from moderating all of the bugs/glitches threads in games like Madden that I would often find things from their postings that I may have never seen or realized on my own. Then once you see it you can't go back. It weighs on you and it can ruin your experience.
I learned that if I somewhat like a game, take MLB the Show for instance this year, that it is usually best to step away and just play and enjoy it. And only post or look for things that help you to solve problems or issues in your enjoyment. That game has plenty wrong with it and when you start reading everyone saying those things all day then it makes you either defensive of the game that is not perfect, or makes you enjoy your experience less because you either realize more than before or you think you are wrong for having your personal opinions on it.
But I know from talking to developers that the feedback is needed and appreciated if it is constructive. If there is a bug they want to know about it. But if it doesn't affect me I may not want to keep reading about it and get upset when it is brought up in every thread, sure. And since I can't control that happening I found that it was just best for to get away for a bit and come back for news that pertained to me.
That is what I meant and I am sorry if you took it personal. I am a hockey fan and player and just want the best experience like all of you guys.Comment

Hi I play on the ps4 and the graphics were also lacking but just like MLBTS I had to adjust my TV and after that it looked almost as good as madden and always start with video game viewing settings on my TV .Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !Comment
