Waiting for User, Always Fun
So I'm actually ahead of someone after a period..and we're stuck on the usual 'waiting for user' screen.. and I'm getting chewed out by the guy on the other side because I haven't turned mine off yet to give him the win.. just funny listening to the other guy try and talk me into quitting .. obviously it's NOT going to come back but I'm having fun listening to the guy every couple minutes tells me he can wait all night for me to quit.

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
After an hour and half I gave up and turned off the X-Box and just took the loss from a 1-0 first period lead.. ran out of laundry to do by that point..View Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
I'm sure it is.. but he sure got angry/hot trying to blame me when we could still TALK to each other on mics.. kids playing the game don't understand that we're both screwed and the game won't come backView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
I think what's happening is that the game is getting desynched, and when that happens, the game hangs indefinitely:
Once that happens, it's basically a "waiting contest," as the person who quits first will get the loss.Last edited by jyoung; 09-15-2014, 03:31 PM.Comment

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
I had this happen once when I was winning after the first period as well, thought it was some sort of ISP glitch they used but perhaps was jut an EA error.
Got the looping issue once last night but it ended after the first period ended with no more whistles. Kept sending us back to around 3:33 and doing weird stuff.
Other than those two small issues, which I've only incurred once each; this game has been great. Love HUT again.Comment

The looping thing used to happen all the time in the 'Be a Player' mode pick-up games in 14.. one person lags bad and it jumps backwards to a previous faceoff until they catch up for disappear it seemedView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
I said this before in the general forum, but I have already seen first hand how you can force the desync by making in game roster adjustments. People are already on to this and have used this to force the desync so that they can get the W.
EA has no problems charging money for these micro transactions and making it seem like they are legit, but they do nothing to police the mode or enforce rules against cheaters.
Be warned, if you continue to play HUT or online then you are submitting yourself to a chance of not getting a fair shake.
Even when the infamous "loop" was a game killer for nearly 3 years in the NHL series the team at EA didn't remove what caused the loop or fix anything at all to get rid of it. Instead they eliminated the options that could cause it to occur. Meaning, they eliminated certain in game settings from being touched so that the game could no longer be looped rather than to fix the actual issue that caused the loop in the first place.Comment

Re: Waiting for User, Always Fun
It doesn't always happen as a result of someone making it happen, no. But also remember some people don't even know that it is possible, so if they would trigger it they would do so by accident; and then it just comes down to who is willing to wait the longest to avoid the loss.Originally posted by natey2k4Well it's definitely not a glitch triggered by other users. It's just typical EA.
It happened to me today up 1-0, and the other person quit after approximately three minutes, giving me the W. I was up 1-0, so if he triggered it - it doesn't make sense for him to quit after 3 minutes.
First time it happened to me in about 20 games.Comment
