Every Shift, Every Game - A Carolina Hurricanes NHL 15 GM

    Welcome.png

Carolina Hires New GM Michael Anthony

Raleigh - In a shocking turn of events the Carolina Hurricanes have announced the firing of their GM. This move comes on the heals of a miserable season in which the team finished in the low end of the Eastern Conference. Hired in replacement is virtual unknown and unproven Michael Anthony. Anthony will be taking on a team with a multitude of problems but plenty of talent as he will likely be expected to turn this team around quickly or face unemployment as well.

New York Islanders vs. Carolina Hurricanes (2-1 Win)
Carolina hung on for the exciting win despite allowing the late 3rd period goal to bring New York within one. Ward finished the game with 31 saves on 32 shots to lead the team to victory.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Islanders (5-2 Loss)
Whatever magic Ward possessed in game one of this 2 game series with New York, he did not have it today. Ward allowed 4 goals on 31 shots. The bright spot in this game was the two assists by Jeff Skinner, the young 22 year old left wing already has 1 goal and 2 assists early in the season.

Buffalo Sabres vs Carolina Hurricanes (5-1 Win)
        J. Skinner's hot start continued as the Hurricanes easily defeated the Sabres. Skinner had 2 goals, as did fellow left-winger Nathan Gerbe. Ward managed to bounce back from his sloppy play the previous start allowing only 1 goal on 35 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Rangers (4-3 Win in OT)
Defender Andrej Sekera led the charge for the Hurricanes in their win over the Eastern Conference champions New York. The 28 year old had two assists as well as a number of good shifts that helped hold off the confident Rangers in overtime. Ward would pick up his 3rd win with 3 goals on 45 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (3-1-0) vs. Winnipeg Jets (3-1-1) - (Win 4-1)
Jeff Skinner led the Hurricanes to another victory as he scored 2 goals bringing his total to 5 goals in 5 games. Ward also collected his 4th win of the season allowing 1 goal on 25 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (4-1-0) vs. Calgary Flames (3-5-0) - (Win 6-3)
The star of the game for the Hurricanes in this one was right wing Alexander Semin. Semin scored a hat-trick and also assisted on a goal as the offense came alive against Calgary. Ward collected another win tonight allowing 3 goals on 29 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (5-1-0) vs. Edmonton Oilers (4-2-1) - (Loss 3-0)
Whatever offense the Hurricanes had last game that must have been all of it, as they struggled to get anything going on the back end of this back to back stretch. Goalie Anton Khudobin got his first start of the season as well as his first loss allowing 3 goals on 31 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (5-2-0) vs. Vancouver Canucks (4-2-2) (Loss 3-2)
The Hurricanes drop their second straight game this time in a very physical game with the Canucks. Alexander Semin scored his 6th goal of the season and now leads the team. Anton Khudobin played his second straight game again allowing 3 goals but only on 20 shots this time.

Arizona Coyotes (4-4-1) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (5-3-0) (Loss 2-1)
The Carolina hot start to the season has officially been declared over as the team drops their third straight game. In a game that was dominated by the Coyotes the only bright spot was seeing Khudobin have a strong showing in net. The goaltender while picking up his 3rd loss and allowing 2 goals was able to stop 39 shots on 41 attempts.

            Week End Record: 5-4-0

Los Angeles Kings (7-4-0) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (5-4-0) (Win 5-1)
Jeff Skinner reclaimed the lead for goals on the team scoring twice to bring his season total to 7. Eric Staal also continues to impress getting his 8th and 9th assists on the season. Ward collected his 6th win of the year returning to the net for the Hurricanes allowing 1 goal on 33 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (6-4-0) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (5-4-2) (Loss 2-1)
Carolina continues its up and down play dropping a close contest with the Blue Jackets. Skinner remains a bright spot however, scoring his 8th goal on the season. This was only Ward's second loss of the year allowing 2 goals on 23 shots.

Columbus Blue Jackets (6-4-2) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (6-5-0) (Loss 5-2)
In a rematch of the previous game the Blue Jackets proved once again to be the better team. Skinner has now scored in 3 straight games picking up his 9th goal of the year. Ward will likely sit tomorrow's game following today's game in which he allowed 5 goals on 33 shots.

Carolina Hurricanes (6-6-0) vs. Washington Capitals (5-6-2) (Loss 5-2)
Another embarrassing loss leaves fans of Carolina shaking their heads. Andrej Sekera was the only good thing this game as the defender continues to play well both on defense and offense; he now has 10 assists. Anton Khudobin is now 0-4 on the season and likely close to losing his job after allowing 4 goals on 18 shots.

              Week End Record: 6-7-0

4 goals on 18 shots. Ouch.

That's a rough week all over.

Yeah haha, it was unfortunate. It seemed if it was heading in the right direction it was going to find the back of the net.
