Passing is ok. But man my brain is still getting used to shooting and dekeing with the side on view.

Alright after playing a couple games over the past week I'll post my impressions.

GOOD:
+ Presentation is amazing, Love the NBC overlay+ Graphics, everything from the ice to the vendor dude in the stands looks amazing. WFC looks exactly like it does IRL(Besides maybe a few minor discrepancies, but I don't have the WFC memorized, haven't been to a Flyers game in a few years )
+ Gameplay is an improvement over last year
+ Fans getting LOUD after a goal or fight win(Finally)
+ Skating feels very good besides the occasional odd happening
+ Dump and Chase works
+ Puck Physics, seen some good bounces/rolling pucks/etc.
+ BAGM has potential once the patch comes through
+ Players progress reasonably
+ Stats look good at the end of the year(100+ scorers, 70+ Dman)
+ Forechecking works

BAD:
- Clipping issues, pucks going through STICKS(Posted a pick in Photos), goalie pads, boards(Had an out of play called due to the puck clipping out of the rink)
- Goalies are still eh...
- WHY DID YOU TAKE OUT THE TIE-UP EA?? Used to make covering a guy near the net a viable option for covering the back door, now there is no way to stop a player from shooting unless you get lucky enough to poke check the puck away or deflect it.
- Poke check, why can't it be like the 2k series where you have more control and can sweep your stick to block lanes.
- No way of covering the slot
- Puck Protect seems overpowered.
- Fans are quiet during faceoffs(like pin-drop quiet) or during the game even when leading or pressuring. Maybe use a momentum kind of system to get the crowd to be more vocal. Where are the team-chants(Let's go Flyers, Rangers, etc.)
- All the lacking features of the modes(we've beaten that like a dead horse)
- Teams still play like each other, no real difference between players. An Italian player should not be sniping top corner lasers with ease, like a Stamkos. Can still dangle like Datsyuk with a Rosehill.....
- Boarding calls on hits to the sides, so infuriating.
- Commentators suck, but this is the 1st year, though I've heard the same "Star player only plays 1/3 of the game blah blah blah" about 60% of the games I've played

Quirky/Bugs:
- In BAGM if you look at the stats for goalies, SV% is incomplete with no way of expanding that column.
- Played a playoff game and during the pre-game when they show a players stats during the playoffs is says SEASON
- The stupid idea of not having the bids refresh w/o having to back out and back in
- HUT lost so many last second deals due to ERRORS or the card just disappearing and a new batch of cards refreshing.
- No bench for HUT, players fatigued/injured need to have cards used on them???
- One of the strategies being the same as Poke check, so if you are changing lines/strategies while trying to defend and you keep hitting RB/R1 the menu stays.

Got the game afew days back, and gotta say i'm ejoying the heck outta the gameplay with the few slider adjustments i've made. I believe there's just enough there in GM mode to make it fun for me to play.

As I've posted in the How's your BeaGM mode going.. game play is fantastic, definitely agree with you here. Even though the CPU AI has some issues, the game really feels like hockey to me on hardcore with some minor tweaks. Also, RB on xb1 works wonders breaking up those one timer passes from the CPU.

Teams feel different to me too, the Rangers were all over me, but I never felt really threatened like that playing against Calgary.

It sure does.

But Id like more tools to play D with. The stick lift is just a slash that gets penalties. To me, it has zero benefit.

yup.
game needs more D tools.
like someone posted earlier. Right stick should not be a check button. Right stick should be your stick movement. also there should be another way to slow down an attacking player other that bundling them, or poke checking the puck away. You should be able to just sheild them away. force them wide, and the puck come off their stick.

I think the game with hold me over this year, the puck is definitely more loose, but next year we need to have better defensive AI controls, and stick on player collision detection for more loose puck when trying to get around a player.

I'd nearly even swear the same team can play differently from one game to the next, Mizz. Vs the Avs twice to start my season, in game one the AI seemed to using a collapsing style. Whereas game two, seemingly more of a staggered approach. Must say i'm glad i got 15 now, after the early disappointments.

Whereas game two, seemingly more of a staggered approach. Must say i'm glad i got 15 now, after the early disappointments.

You could be right.. and I know the hit totals for the CPU are not registering right in the stat sheet. They hit me just as much as I hit them, yet it only shows like 7 and I have like 18.

I'm itching to play more tonight.. so that's a good thing.

Ok did my final Tweaks to Al_Titos wonderful sliders so Im set and just waiting for the release of the 3 Stars and Playoff Mode add ons and Im set and once again by far my sports game of the year on gameplay alone

Its really sad to see so many still struggling to find there sliders as there really missing out on a incredible next gen game but maybe try his sliders as a base AND PLEASE dont judge them on a few games as they go full circle , hope this helps

It's the missing modes, which some will get what they want in a patch, some of us won't and the things that have been a problem for years like penalties that still have people angry. You have what you like in the game and will be getting the rest in a patch that's great but many are left feeling ripped off, lied to again, and ignored.

You know I just realized that unless everyone feels the way you do about the game you want them to shut up. Your right this an impression thread but here is the rub.....some people have a different impression then you. Your comment that we all knew what would or wouldn't be in the game is so inaccurate it's not even funny. Show me one blog or post where Ranmer ever answers the question about season mode before the game released. Show me one blog or post that says edit player won't be in the game. Show me one blog or post that says full roster control won't be in the game. There us so much missing that they kept quiet it's not even funny. You like the game that's cool and your impressions are important for people who feel like you and will find them helpful. Those of us who are posting our negative impressions are helpful for people like us. People who have been waiting for things like penalties to be fixed for 3 years. People who asked over and over again about certain modes and never had their questions answered by EA. When you pop on every thread telling people who have issues with the game to stay out of the threads, call people sour grapes, etc etc you just come off like a troll and an EA fanboy. Your entitled to your view of the game but for Christ sake stop telling others what do and think about the game as if they are too stupid to figure it out. Hell in one thread you answered someone "thank you for getting it" as if the rest of us over here are on some lower level of existence then you are. Do you ever listen to yourself. Here's my impression the game as it stands is a good base for next gen but totally incomplete and not worth the full price everyone paid.
