Connected Franchise: Rosters Keeps Getting Screwed Up

Ok, so I'm a long time Madden fan and I have the latest on ps4. I love playing a real season (franchise) and I like to start my season with the real rosters. I thought that is what I did when I was the Chiefs. I played all my preseason games and then got to week 1 of regular season against the Titans and realized they had Ray Rice as the their running back. I immediately quit the game, then went into the transactions and saw the Titans signed him in week 2 of preseason. What the heck? So I quit the franchise and started a new one only to find out it happened again. They drop Sankey and sign Ray Rice. THis is a offline franchise and I control the Chiefs. I only want to control the chiefs bc I don't have time to control all the other teams. However, in years past, I have never had the computer controlled teams do stupid stuff like this. I want the rosters to stick to the real deal... or at least start with the real deal and stay that way.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Doug

Re: Connected Franchise: Rosters Keeps Getting Screwed Up

I still can't figure this out. I tried an online franchise that I made private with just me and the rosters are still screwed up. I noticed the Titans released Sankey. I can't figure out how I can play a season with the real rosters... driving my insane!

Perhaps I just can't do what I want to do with this years Madden.

    Thanks,
    Doug

Re: Connected Franchise: Rosters Keeps Getting Screwed Up

Looks like I wasted 60 bucks on this game. I have tried and tried and tried to figure out how to play a season/franchise with the real rosters and it doesn't seem to happen. I don't like the cpu controlled teams jack around with the rosters quite a bit. Sankey is listed number 2 on the depth chart in real life and every time I try to do a franchise, the Titans end up releasing him in the preseason. God only knows what other stupid moves are made for the other cpu controlled teams.

Anyone have any ideas for me to try before I give up?

      Thanks!
      Doug

Load the roster with Ray Rice, lower all his ratings so his overall drops to nothing, save that roster then start your franchise with that roster.

That might solve the Ray Rice issue, but what about all the CPU controlled teams making stupid roster moves? Titans releasing Sankey? I saw someone else post this problem too and he said several teams drop their first round picks. It just isn't real and that is what kills me. I simply want to play a season (or start a franchise) with the real rosters without the cpu messing up the rosters.

Don't you think players are going to switch teams during the offseason? It's a game lol make up a story, ignore it, sign him and trade him back

Sure... that's fine after the first season. I want to start my first franchise season and have it be close to the real deal. After the first season, I don't care what happens. It is just the way I always played the game. I get it when the real season starts and I like to play a real season. That is hard to do with the rosters getting all screwed up by the cpu teams.

32 team control will solve that, make every roster move yourself.

...and dropping Sankey to pick up Rice is a good move. It looks like the Titans don't value Sankey (I don't blame them). Like someone said earlier, make up a story. Once you hit "advance week" for the first time, the idea of "Real NFL" goes out the window. The only way to avoid this is to do 32 team control.

It happens every year... The CPU teams are going to always make bizarre rosters moves. Madden 25 last year the Cards always cut Andre Ellington. If you want certain players around the league to start or make the team, you have to put up there ratings before you start CFM. Or just ignore what other teams are doing and just focus on your team. Its annoying... but it is, what it is.

Man what a bummer! I might try the 32 team control, but I'm not sure I have the time for that.

I wonder about depth charts. I will have to see if Sankey was listed #2 on the chart. If not, I wonder if I made him #2 before I started the franchise if he would then not get cut.

don't mess with depth charts no matter what u do outside of cfm.... they all get reset once u enter the mode I spent hrs getting all the rosters 100% correct... depth charts etc went into cfm and noticed all the depth charts were different so seems me like either the game or the cmp changes things once u get into there.

not sure if 32 man control will fix that or not but if it does still a pain to have to go through all 32 teams and set them all back up.

Re: Connected Franchise: Rosters Keeps Getting Screwed Up

I've completely edited my rosters to be accurate when CFM starts.

One of the things I do is cut players so the rosters will remain accurate, so for the Titans, cut Washington. They'll always keep 3 RB's so Sankey will stay put, also lower Shonne Greene about 2 pts, and lower McCluster to about 73 overall. You'll also have to raise Locker to about 80 overall.

I've done tons of tweaks, some of the most notable:

Lower Kap, Cam, Wilson, about 3 points, Raise Roddy White and M. Ryan about 3 pts, raise Eli 3 points, raise Peyton's Arm strenght and accuracies, (The best I've been able to get him is 95 overall when CFM starts), raise Chris Ivory 3 pts, lower Joe McKnight like 7 pt's otherwise he's really good, raise Donnie Avery like 8 pts otherwise he sucks, raise Reggie Wayne up to 93 or so or he sucks, lower all rookie QB's about 3 pts, Manziel down to 72.

It's so annoying that I had to do this, but if you want the CFM rosters to be accurate, you have to change all of the initial ratings.

Some of them are really drastic too. Like 10 overall rating point swings.

Ha, you should lower Donnie Avery by 8 points, because he really does suck.
