I don't know why Faction gear can't be purchased with one or the other. I mean you don't technically have to play multiplayer; you can farm materials and for every 50 trade them in for crucible marks. After getting 1,000 of any material you can hit your limit. How long would that take?

I don't know who bungie listens to. Do they have focus groups? There message boards are a mess, but some of it is validated.

I guess I expected exploration from Mass effect taken to a whole new level I could only imagine, and customization like skyrims skill tree but what we get is what many outlets have stated already...a jack of all trades but a master of none.

EDIT: Wanted to add...why in the hell is the space that opened up in the tower where the queens agent is so wide open and big but there's just ONE thing to do. I was looking forward to that part opening up and once it did it was so anti-climactic that it makes pessimistic about any other area in the tower opening up.

It really feels like to me, Destiny was limited either because of a corporate mandate or because of the last-generation of consoles they had to develop for. The amount of content definitely feels more like a PS3 game than a PS4 game, but I think even for last-gen, this game would feel pretty small. There just isn't enough content.

However, with Activision involved, I'm inclined to be more cynical in thinking they limited content on purpose in order to fill in the initial expansion pass. The empty areas of the Tower of which you speak is likely space reserved for future additions or limited-time events, like the Iron Banner that took place during the Beta phase.

Just did a queens bounty and my reward was literally 3 plasteel plating and 42 glimmer, it looks good with my 486 plasteel and 24k glimmer in my inventory.

Totally worth it.

I am pretty sure the open space where the queen's person is will be used for any events. In the Beta the Iron Banner stuff was all to the right of that area.

That happened to me as well. I guessed they nerfed those missions too. No reason for me to do them at all now.

I will just focus on random bounties and Spirit Blooms and Relic Shards.

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Durning the beta the had iron fist/wolf pvp faction there, so I think that are will be used for short time factions for now.

Yep, Iron Banner was there, and it will be again. It's a nice area for more stuff to do.

I think the most telling thing for me was that they said "this isn't how we envisioned people enjoying our game", so they took that option away.

I can understand doing away with the loot cave and all, but I don't like their explanation for doing so at all. Really tempers much of the excitement I had for this game going forward.

I finally got the 10 rare fusion rifles to dissemble. Gunsmith was selling rare ones so I bought 9 of them to finish that part of the exotic bounty. Next part, 200 kills with a fusion rifle in the weekly nightfall.....

The loot cave was ridiculous, but it was also a huge crutch propping the game up. Personally I didn't spend crazy hours at the cave, it was more of something I knew was there once the lack of any reward was getting to me. I'm grinding bounties, maybe doing a strike, then if seeing my rewards come up blanks again get me down, I knew I could shoot over to the cave for 30 minutes to an hour and pick up a pocketful of blue engrams and at least hope to get something. I rarely did, but at least it was something (in 49 hours of game time, I have had all of 3 legendary drops. 3, and one wasn't even for my class. And, two of them came from Cryptark upgrade gift purple engrams, not anything directly farmed).

I tried playing earlier, and it just loomed even heavier over me that nothing was coming my way, even though that short time it was ridiculous to think it should. It's just that I knew the vacant drops would just be forever vacant, that security blanket was gone. I could play the rest of the game and just figure if nothing dropped I could go sit in front of the loot cave slot machine and get something, even if it was a pittance. Now, I have to sit at the end of a strike or whatever, see my end match rewards blank out, then look at my inventory and I came out with all of one blue engram and a couple green trash. It's a depressing thing, really.

I am probably in the minority here, I like how difficult it is to get legendary gear. It feels so much more rewarding when you do get it. Plus if everyone was running around with full legendary sets after just a couple weeks it wouldn't be as special when you do get one.

yeah I feel the same way. my only issue is that legendary engrams aren't guaranteed to be just that, they need to change it.

Had a decent night. My first non-purchased/queen legendary from a blue engram (Hex Caster auto rifle) and now am working towards the exotic bounty for Bad Juju.

Played the living daylights outta this game,and yes I was guilty of farming the cave,but not to the degree I've seen others talk about,I would get bored outta my mind real quick and have to do something else.

I was excited to see what the Queen was going to offer,only to be let down when it turned out her weapons are only rares and worse than what I already have...then I thought I would finally get my shards and what-not by doing the Queens missions so I can legendary stuff and break it down...as I need a butt load of those things to level up my gear..

But then what happens?? Bungie makes it so getting and breaking down that legendary stuff just give me glimmer? are you freaking kidding me??

As much as I love/ed this game Bungie is making it very hard to get enjoyment out of it...and what's worse?

FINALLY getting that legendary engram,only to have it turn into a rare item...if Bungie is going to "neuter" things,than they ought to change the engram drops...rare should be rare,and legendary should be legendary...and don't EVEN get me started on getting another classes gear when I'm a Hunter....

I will play the game with my step-son as he enjoys the hell out of it,and the sad thing is that I do to at times,but the decision making at Bungie is all messed up.

I feel the same. I have no problems with it being difficult and even if you don't get drops lvling up the vanguard/crucible people with bounties are not difficult at all then you can just buy them.

I do however would like completing the strikes and stuff to give a bit more of a reward for doing it.

I also have no clue why people are saying you need to play crucible to get stuff? It's just as random there as it is in story mode. Lol.
