Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
ya this is good stuff! i'm glad to see the improvements on defense. i'd still like to know if players to a better job getting back on defense and not allowing a quick pass and open shot(usually a three) like it the past. and just how the transition defense is as a whole. another thing that always bugged me(i don't know if it was like this in 2K14 because i skipped it) but in 2K13 the defenders while they'd close out and cover too much ground at times, would also close and then just stop short and jump straight up while they were too far away to contest a shot they should of been able to. i hope that doesn't happen anymore.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
I really appreciate your time and effort going in-depth into details the way you have.
If I can make three suggestions here, I am sure the majority of the SIM nation would approve fully:
1: Even if you don't get done with your intros before release, please continue to release the highlights. I can not express to you how much more I can appreciate everything I see in the game if I have you pointing things out (both the good and the bad).
2: Continue to use Sage in your intros. It really gets the mood going great.
3: Get 2K to reconsider their marketing/ad campaign next year! If they had initiated these type of YouTube vids we see from you months ago, a lot more excitement across the board would have been generated.
I know that prior to your releases I was very unsure whether I wanted to get my family and friends to take a look at 2k15. With what you show, I realize they would appreciate this year's version much more than prior couple of years.
The stuff from those YouTube heroes actually turn me and those in my social group off more than it attracts us. Things like continuous twitter tweets that only tease make me feel 2k has much more to hide than show-off and trailers just don't get the information needed to excite me the way your efforts have.
So, I really hope you get the 2k marketing geniuses to listen to you - the direction they have taken the last few years is further and further away from success than their efforts 5 years ago were.Comment

Just wanted to say great work czar on both videos and sick job by sage as well as always! I also appreciate all the feedback you have given throughout both of your threads. Your transparency and honesty go's along ways here. So, thanks!
I can not wait to mess around with these freelance systems as well as all the team specific plays you added this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you did with the classic teams as well, because those in the past have been horrible along with the fact each team only had like 16-18 plays each with most of them being iso's.
Anyways, great job and it looks so good and HUGE improvement with spacing and logic from years past. I'm most excited about where you will be taking us in the future! I see where your going and I LIKE IT! HAHABasketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
Ya, this seems to me a bad design decision with plays being on the d-pad and having to take hand off player control stick to call a play. So I can't run and call a play or even walk and call a play now unless I use my right hand? Again, I'll just have to wait and see how this feels but doesn't sound right IMO with loss of control especially against a aggressive defender swiping at the ball online...Last edited by vannwolfhawk; 10-01-2014, 01:30 AM.Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
I don't thnk we have that covered. I wonder if you used matchups however and assigned everyone to who you wanted them to guard if that would be a short cut.
OG and I will add that to our 16 list. Because that makes sense. So if you have that enabled your ok if they give up a layup because they did exactly what you said or would you want it to function as don't switch unless you have to ?Comment

Are airballs in the game? I don't recall seeing any in 2K14 and
they happen quite a bit in rel life.
Also did they ever fix the issue where you go to pass to one of
your big men who are open under the net and they come out
to the 3 point line to catch the pass?Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
Did they take out ability to call a certain player to double team last year? I loved that I could on the fly call for a weak side double on the post while still guarding the post entry passer and steal that pass back out...Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
Yeah you could do that but live had a handy Help Off setting that allowed the AI to provide help from matchups that don't provide as much of a threat. Like say helping off Rubio.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Video - Evolution of Freelance Offense: Part 2 with Da_Czar
I loved these videos. Watching the Spurs screen off ball along the baseline was great to see. And seethe Heat spacers seek out open court after ball screens was great.
I think we'll appreciate this more when we're playing.
I didnt use the Mavs in my association last year because I didnt think the offenses and ball movement could give me the Mavs complex experience, so I used OKC*. But Ill use them this year, Im sure.
*Sorry, Scott Brooks. But you know its true.Comment
