I have seen the same thing. If I recall correctly, the rule is that if the hand is moved to intercept the ball, it's a hand ball (same for arm movement too). If the hand or arm is not moved toward the ball and the ball strikes it, that is not supposed to be a hand ball. If I'm right about that, is it possible that the game is looking *that* carefully to see if it's really a hand ball? Dunno, and I kind of doubt it.

For anyone frustrated with this game right now like me, a great alternative is playing Be a Pro, which to me is the best its been. Im having an amazing time with BAP in contrast to the bugged MM.
Ive yet to see one also. Im also 99% sure the rule is if you move in front of the ball with your hand or arm, its a handball. If it hits your hand but you didnt have time to move it and you are in a natural position, it is not a handball. Anything else is refs disgression which is why you see refs with such varying calls towards handballs. Refs disgression and natural position are important because when i played in college guys on every team woukd kick it at your hand in the box instead or around you. Happens all the time, its akin to diving imo. It used to be automatic handball until players starting exploiting it.I have seen the same thing. Is goal line technology something you have to turn on?
I've put a lot of time into the game already, and haven't seen one reviewed. Had a couple close calls, too.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: FIFA 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS4, XB1)
Loving it, just need to play with the difficulty and sliders. Started a Crystal Palace(for kicks), opening game vs Arsenal and I tied it late(something like the 85') get a good bounce and take off, defender keeps pace and misses his slide tackle in the box. Line up take the shot and boom off the cross bar. Scramble in the box results in the keeper taking out one of my guys so I get a 2nd pk.
Arsenal's keeper saved it and the whistle blew. Never seen that before(back to back pks) just need to maybe bump up to world class so the cpu shoots more.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS4, XB1)
Just had a cracking game Vs Swansea in the league cup round of 16.
(me)Nottingham Forest 4 def Swansea 3
I was down 2 nil at halftime after an own goal from a low cross and a Bony header from a cross.
I scored my first goal after I forced a turnover at halfway flicked onto the wing, cut inside and fired a shot which the keeper parried straight to the feet of my striker for a tap in goal.
Then deep into injury time down 2-1 I was awarded a free kick about 3 yards outside the box. I've never hit a free kick goal ever. Up steps Chris Cohen and somehow slots it into the top left corner to force extra time.
In the 1st period of extra time Swansea put a nice play together and carved open my tired midfield (who were starting to cramp up after just about every sprint) and Sigurdsson curved a sweet ball past two diving defenders and my outstretched goalie from just outside the edge of the box.
Then in the 2 minutes of extra time (yes, 2 minutes, not 5 mins lol) I passed it out with a throw from my goalie to my LB. He crossed it to my RM and then about a 15 pass sequence (which I've never done, lol) ended with my CAM wrapping a finesse shot into the top right corner for a 3-3 score.
The 2nd period of extra time was epic. The whole game was in driving rain and by the 2nd period of ET players were dropping like flies with cramps. The game literally slowed to a crawl. 5 minutes of injury time were just about over with us looking like we're off to a shootout when I was awarded another free kick right on the edge of the box.
I musta replayed that foul 10 times because I was sure it was a penalty, not a free kick.
Up steps Chris Cohen, and again he slots it into the top corner with literally the last kick of the game.
Unbelievable drama.
epic game. I ended up with 3 injuries and now I travel to Cardiff for a top of the table clash.
Next league game is a quarter final date at Anfield with Liverpool. Can't wait for that atmosphere!Comment

Great story! Free kicks this year are definitely better in my opinion. Feel much more organicJust had a cracking game Vs Swansea in the league cup round of 16.

Re: FIFA 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS4, XB1)
Matt I have just found something that imo is crucial. I took a look to the parameters in cl.ini and I decided to see more closely this global cpu pass error slider. The pass error slider is not an actual pass error slider for the cpu. It's a slider that affects cpu build up. In general it's a direct pass/pass variation slider which works backwards. I've set it to 07 (yes 7) and the cpu build up suddenly got more direct and varied with crosses, 1-2's etc. This means that if we set this one to higher values than default 50 the cpu gets more cautious and dribbles much more because it looks for that easy short pass. Now with the slider at 7 I've seen many more errors from cpu because they're confident they can pass without error which leads to more errors in their passes! I know it sounds weird but it's exactly like this. Crossings in the box although are more dangerous but this is not a problem because head scoring is actually very balanced this year.
I'm yet to test if leaving from default 50 breaks individual cpu teams build up. As it is though the only options are setting this either on 50 or way below to get more variation in the cpu build up.Last edited by fearwhatnow; 10-02-2014, 07:01 AM.Comment

Same here, I've played probably 20 Prem matches, and have yet to see a single instance of GLT in effect.
I'm starting to convince myself that it's just not included in the game.Comment

Fearwhatnow,
Great discovery! Thank you for sharing that. It doesn't sound weird, the other EA titles have these same "mis-labeled" slider issues. This is exactly the sort of thing we need to identify. Again, great work.Last edited by BL8001; 10-02-2014, 09:17 AM.resident curmudgeonComment

I´ve tried it for a few mins. but of course it has to be tested in several matches to get to a proper conclusion.Matt I have just found something that imo is crucial. Increasing pass error extremely does make the ball bounce more and lose a bit of speed in CPU passes. Now the important thing, is not what the slider does, but really how the CPU reacts to it. If you say the CPU is not so good at passing, he´ll do what any ohter team would: he will play more direct, trying to put the ball in the front as soon as possible, he wont try to play possession soccer, simply because he knows he won't succeed.
If we lower the pass error slider, then CPU feels confident enough and keeps possession, makes more passing and generaly, tries to score goals through assistences, crosses etc. Of course, because he is trying to pass more around, we also get more chances to intercept the ball. For some it might become more realistic gameplay, not so much to others, depending how you play on defense.
Watching some CPU vs CPU matches I realized that CPU defends cautiously, trying to cut passing lanes etc, and sometimes I can do that, wich makes the CPU think twice before doing some run or risky pass. Good positioning is absolutely decisive and on most matches I can achieve it, wich makes default sliders arguably good enough to enjoy this game.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS4, XB1)
It was supposed to be posted on Matt's sliders thread and accidentaly I've posted here. Anyway, after some extensive testing I think I've come to a conclusion that this slider should stay at default 50 or at least not higher than the default value.Comment

I have seen the GLT nearly 5 times. Today also: I was playing against Everton and Miralas fired one from outside the box. The ball hit the 1st woodwork and then the 2nd and I was able to finally clear the ball. The incident was reviewed after 5 minutes with the GLT feature.Comment
