I don't want to turn this into a Live vs 2k argument, because that's not what I was trying to do. My point was that even though 2k was already pretty much a complete game that many people thought was great on the court, they still couldn't address a lot of things they wanted to get to. Just looking through the conversations with Da_Czar, you can see there was a lot he wanted to do, but didn't have the time. Then, on Live's side, you had a game from last year that the majority felt was lacking in almost every aspect. So I wouldn't expect the same level of polish, when they needed to work on a lot of bigger issues first.

As usual with this series though, things that are sitting front and center on the need to get done list didn't because we focus on things that isn't already broken. Fix what's broken or non-existent first and then get to that other stuff. -
Re: NBA Live 15 Video and Blog - Offensive Improvements
Good input here. I think what it will come down to as long as the gameplay is smooth and feels like basketball again, the deciding factor if Live is viable again is AI. Needs to be somewhat competent and must feel like real basketball again. LIVE 14 I felt at times players were dumber than a box of bricks. If players aren't moving, aren't trying to get open or what have you, on top of moving organically that is, then I'll be sorely disappointed. But again , my optimism is somewhat high for 15 but I know those trailers I saw for 14 did the same thing in making me think it's gonna be special. But.... the difference this year is that we've seen a lot more teasing and it's still 26 days away and I expect more gameplay videos before launch.
Being generous, if Live 14 was getting around 6.0 ratings we should expect 8.0 for 15. Anything less imo is a big downerLast edited by GisherJohn24; 10-02-2014, 10:46 AM.Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Video and Blog - Offensive Improvements
Man, I just can't get behind "it being better than last year" as a form of praise.
Guess I just expected nothing less than faces being scanned, animations being improved...they were near the bottom of the barrel last year. That's not to say I don't appreciate the additions of things like "rag doll physics" or some of the other improvements in this video...Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Video and Blog - Offensive Improvements
Live 14 failed miserably, let's not try and act like it was even a good game. However, I played the crap out of it and enjoyed certain aspects. Now, after seeing these trailers and short clips of gameplay, I can tell this will be light years better. Do I think it's going to be a game changer hell no, but to me personally, I think it will extremely enjoyable. I just don't get why people are getting attacked on the Live forum when they say "good job EA" or "man this is a day one buy." If you dislike Live and you aren't interested in playing, that's fine but don't attack others when they say they want to and vice versa. I'm just ready for the game to release already because some of you guys are driving me to look at the forums less and less.Comment

I am like you moe,I don't hVe money, time and energy to baby no damn million dollar company,I want the best and Realest simulation for my money and I'm not buying two games just because one game does shoes and headbands and cross over moves better than a game that is a better total package, doesnt give a sht about me as a customer and IF (like the rock ) lol if they cared about me as a customer they wouldn't have bought excluive to the NFL ,college footballlicense ,shape the hell up and make a good game in nba live, stop feeding us crap on bullComment

Naw not you 24th I def know you post positive and negative things on live. I agree though EA needs to be criticized on certain aspects by I think it goes overboard when people constantly get attacked for saying good things.Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Video and Blog - Offensive Improvements
Playmakers, 24, King B, 23 , and Sage are in here really shedding some light on things!!!! Respect!!
I think the game visually looks great (90 percent of players' likenesses, shoes, and arenas) but it just seems like everything else they are displaying gameplay wise they arent confident in.
I will say I did dislike that an action cutaway camera was used to show off the passing/fastbreak instead of maybe a broadcast camera so you could actually see the speed and trajectory of each pass from one player to another in real time. That has questionable written all over it not necessarily the game but the tactics used to show off alot of those features. I just feel the whole trailer was rushed from the gameplay improvements(use of action cams) to even the narrator of the trailer. Thats just odd to me.
Ps.
Whats up with that celtics green on their jerseys? It needs fixing it looks like a shiny emerald green.Last edited by swac07; 10-02-2014, 01:05 PM."Wisdom is ALWAYS an overmatch for strength"........The Zen MasterComment

This comment is why EA keeps taking the easy way out....
I could care less about who buys the game and who doesn't but to me it just seems as if this company gets a free pass time after time with Live.
How many times have they decided to pull the plug and start from scratch on us only to havus wait 2-3 years just for a game that we can call playable?
Live 10 was playable....
Heck even the train wrecks from Live 07-09 could be edited to a certain extent to make just playable.
It's been long overdue for us to have a NBA Live Game that is beyond just playable IMO.
The things some of you guys are willing to settle for now days in this day and age of video sports gaming is unreal.
We spend $400-500 bucks on a next gen system and anther $60 bucks on the games just to say "as long as it's playable I'm in"NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

People rip on 08 and 09 Live, but ya know what? While they were unrealisitc and tons of cheese, they were FUN. I still have more fun playing Live 09 than I did with 14 and certainly Elite that never was. It proves you don't need to have a so called "sim" game to be fun. Live was still making decent cash with 09 and 08, and even the joke of Live 07 and even 06. But those games at least had the mechanics working well enough to have some fun to be had. That's all I want with 15. Fun factor. IF I got Chris Paul dunking on Dwight Howard on a fast break, guess what? Count me in as long as I'm having fun doing it.Comment

Then you should be petitioning for the return of NBA Street sir. NBA Live and simulation basketball games isn't the place for you.

You're telling him it's impossible to have fun playing Live? That's funny because I'm another person that wants a FUN game as well. I don't have time with a family and priorities to sit down and adjust sliders and get involved online so I enjoy a quick game that's easy to play and fun. That's exactly what I'm talking about, dude post about wanting to play a fun game and here you come with some GIF trying to make him look stupid.Comment
