If you followed the rise of the NBA 2K series from 2009 until now you would see the huge following it has built over the past 6 years. It has gone from selling 1.89 million copies in 2009 to over 7 million in 2014 while Madden has stayed at around the 5 million mark from 2009 until now. It's the perfect storm now in my opinion with the year of the fan that NBA 2K has been advertising with full customization and a more personal attachment to the game with facial scanning. With that I think NBA 2K15 will go on to sell over 10 million copies this year while Madden will stay around the 5 million mark as it has consistently done over the past 6 years. What do you guys think, am I far off or in my opinion or on point considering how sales have faired over the past several years?

Maybe he's in business and like forecasting. It will affect all of us in the future no matter what.
I think it's interesting, personally I'd love to see 2K dominate madden.

No disrespect taken. I'm looking at the bigger picture. Your right I won't be getting any money but I might be getting a 2K NFL branded football game because I'm sure the NFL is paying attention and doesn't like the fact that an NBA game is potentially outselling there product 2-1. I know what your going to say and that is the NFL can care less because they are still getting paid premium dollars from EA but when popularity in the videogame sector has effect on the real world and the NBA is gaining popularity through videogames and nurturing young fans to follow the sport then the NFL is going to want to tap into that potential growth also. Madden has been at the same level for several years while NBA 2K has exploded. The NFL is taking notes I'm sure.Comment

Hopefully the NFL has seen what 2K Sports has been able to achieve with NBA 2K that they may consider removing the exclusivity with EA Sports.

I love football but 2K is the game that keeps my attention all year and Madden's struggling to keep mine now..
I'm happy 2K is outselling EA's games because imo 2K cares more about their fanbase.
I'd love to see Madden's sales if 2K ever gets to make an NFL game again...
I think this years' 2K will sell more than any other basketball game, by far. I can't remember the last time I was this hype for a game at all, not even just a sports game.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Wait a minute. NBA 2K14 actually outsold Madden, and it's been closing the gap since 2K12? Wow. I must have been sleeping in a cave. I thought that I would never see the day when a NBA game outsells a football game.Comment
