I can't answer for him but my guess is that it is entirely unrealistic. I cannot ever recall seeing a offense lined up and having to wait for the defense to break the huddle.

If the offense is running up tempo it should make things very difficult for the defense. It forces defenses to give more vanilla looks.

Big difference between Madden and real life here though.

In real life you don't have to wait to select your defensive formation (let alone the play) until after the offense has selected their play.

Just looking at this thread, you can see why the business of releasing patches is so difficult. Seemingly every single person here has one issue they most wanted to see fixed. Sure, some are mentioned more than others but if the developers fixed every single little thing people asked about, we wouldn't see a patch until July.

With that said...can someone post a screen shot of the Buffalo Bills road jerseys, focusing on the numbers on the jersey? I'd like to see if they were among the multiple jersey fixes deployed in this update.

But I thought online players select their plays at the same time?

Regardless that objection is the only reason I can think of to not be happy with the extra time.

And you also don't have to page through a bunch of menus (which aren't the fastest moving menus in the world) to find the play you want to call.

Not true at all.

Two issues are mentioned far more than any other ones, and those are AI taking sacks and CFM finances.

I think it is a bit disingenuous to suggest that the developers should fix every single issue mentioned. No reasonable person is saying that. But when the majority (large majority) are saying that sacks is an issue and it was not fixed? The disappointment is warranted

Just curious, I know a good number of people were asking for that time limit to increase and you're the first person I've seen go the opposite way on that.

Online CFM games against a user. It adds dead time to the game. We already don't get enough plays because we had to shorten games to 11 from 12 and I'm a firm believer it's mainly due to the play calling

There are difficulties in how the game handles playcalling and reconciling that with realism. I don't think there is a solution that would please everybody.

Still, the better solution would be to allow formation subs to either stick game to game or be inputted from menus. I think that is why the time calling plays is such a handicap.

As for general playcalling, I am inclined to argue that 10 seconds is more than enough. Someone should have enough of a defensive identity to have an idea of what they will call as soon as the previous play ends. If they are scouring their playbook hunting for a good play they are doing it wrong.
