they should make an app for this so we can get into the better location, if possible
Try tilting your head up a little bit...I can get my face looking right but the color is off no matter how many lights/little light/color light etc lol

So my room and living room are terrible for lighting...the kitchen's too bright...

I'm bout to bring a $500 43 inch tv and $500 Xbox One/Kinect into the bathroom to scan....

Never in my life have I ever thought I'd have $1000 worth of technology in the same place I do my business..

      Sigh.

ok, so i finally have my face positioned correctly, but my skin is too light, i'll save it though just in case its the best it will get. using the flashlight app directly shinning in my face seems to get more reference points. I just got over 3000.

my forehead looks tall as weel, i think it's because i scanned with the the middle of my forehead lined up with the top of the green box

Mine came out fine the first time even with only got like 2700 reference points. I had to do it again because when I accessed my player the second time it loaded in all kinds of wrong settings. I guess it didn't save him correctly to the 2K servers the first time.

I tried it once more and got like 2100 reference points. Later on I'd like to try it again but I think it looks alright.

Been testing what has the greatest impact on scans and Im getting some good results.

So far the best set up for me has been a giant V pretty much. You want natural light to be coming in from the open space at the top of the V. I placed a lamp at the top tips of the V and the camera at the bottom tip. I propped the camera up to eye level and held a white paper.

                      7k+ reference points a pop.

Aight so I tried for like the past two hours and I finally got it to work pretty much...just trying to get the perfect one now so here's some tips.

-Try and go to a smaller room if you can, where the light fills the whole area evenly.

-Have the camera about a foot in front of you and if you can, use your phone's flashlight app and put it underneath the camera illuminating your face.

-Have the main light above you (doesn't matter as long as it's distributed in the room evenly)

-Turn your head as slow as possible, like barely move if you can, and try and keep the same look on your face.

-Make sure to edit when you're done because your head shape and ears won't be right.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

One tip I've found that helped my scans a lot was holding a large white pillow up over my head to block out some of the light glare and give my guy a more even skin tone.

It took me what felt like FOREVER (90 minutes) and this was the best one. It was an above average scan - 4200 scan points.

It's probably a good thing this thread is here or I'd have just given up. My first scan came out as a creature, second one came out with the wrong facial features and what appeared to be blackface, and the third scan crashed my game. These tips should help, though. Thanks bros.
