They didnt drop the ball. Kerr decided to coach too late in the production cycle to remove him. They wouldve had to retape a good part of their commentary to remove Kerr.

We've known for awhile he was in the game. I think NBA 2k has the best broadcast announcers in the history of sports gaming and that's not easy to replace. Combine that with a shorter production cycle this time around so were just going to have to live with it.

I'm okay with it. Possible that it could have caused more issues by trying to change it too late

Good point. Takes away some of the realism, but overall I think it's a small thing. I mean I only ever usually listen to the commentary for the first month or so before I go to turning the sound off (Or keeping crowd/sfx, etc., just shutting off commentary) and playing my own tunes in the background.
