Devs on like a four game road trip before the home opener... still can't wait!
I'm liking the new NHL app, too.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
I happy to see Andrej Nestrasil (3rd rounder 2009) make the roster. He's a 6'3'', 210 lb winger with a righty shot, all things the Wings could use out of a young guy. Tomas Jurco made the roster as well, what was no guarantee when they brought back Cleary. This may be the youngest Wings roster I've ever seen out of training camp.
From what I hear, the plan is for Dan Cleary to have a phantom injury and be put on IR for the rest of the year once Datsyuk comes back. It'll be the best of all worlds: he can be the lockeroom guy Babcock likes but he won't take up cap or roster space.
Kindl and Lashoff are on thin ice... the only reason Oulette got sent down was to ensure he could be logging heavy minutes each night. As much crap as Holland got for bringing back Quincey once he struck out, I'd rather have him on the ice over Lashoff (who is a borderline NHL'er) and Kindl (who needs a change of scenery badly).Last edited by rdnk; 10-08-2014, 05:33 PM.Comment

Simply amazing. Are we only a season or two away from Matt Cooke, NHL Discipline Czar?

My predictions!
Eastern Conference- Pittsburgh
- Boston
- Tampa Bay
- NY Rangers
- Philadelphia
- NY Islanders
- Montreal
- Washington
- Detroit
- Columbus
- New Jersey
- Ottawa
- Toronto
- Florida
- Carolina
- Buffalo
Pittsburgh over Tampa Bay
Western Conference- St.Louis
- Anaheim
- San Jose
- Chicago
- Minnesota
- LA Kings
- Colorado
- Nashville
- Dallas
- Vancouver
- Winnipeg
- Arizona
- Edmonton
- Calgary
Chicago over LA. I'll be shocked if it isn't Chicago vs. LA in the Western Conference finals. They're like the Giants/Cardinals in baseball.
Chicago over Pittsburgh in the finals.
Hart - Stamkos
Norris - Weber
Vezina - Lundqvist
Art Ross - Crosby
Rocket - Stamkos
Calder - John Gibson
McDavid - Carolina
Eichel - BuffaloLast edited by Kobalt; 10-09-2014, 05:28 PM.Comment

Seems kind of political to me. We know about the NFL's concussion issues, well these players are on a surface and using an apparatus that allow for even more velocity and ferocity as far as collisions go. Pronger's history is well documented, but as an offender and as an example of the other side. The NHL can say they're trying by having formed the DPS and working with ex-players.
Also, and I'm not clear on the money situation, but I don't like this as a Flyers fan. I know we made the deal with Pronger so it's kind of a tough luck situation, but he's hanging on for what reason? I hope he's not screwing us over by doing that. Pretty sure not because there would be an uproar over it, but even working with the "enemy" as technically a current employee rubs me the wrong way.
Am I off base here? I kind of feel like an ******* even bringing this up because I don't want to see players losing years off their lives for our enjoyment. I guess mostly I'm just very uninformed to the whole Pronger situation.Last edited by slickdtc; 10-08-2014, 07:06 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
