So can we clear this up right now. This game was not ready for launch.
Im not starting a flame thread. I have no regrets buying this game, well, maybe a little regret. But I hope for improvement. I just have to vent my frustrations on the issues this game has. I expect issues for video games, but not the continual ones that have plauged this franchise for so long. Blue screen of death, crashing, server overload, this happens every year. Why do developers rush games out the door? Sure, you can say the game plays so great it doesn't matter, but it does matter when the rest of the game is full of gamebreaking bugs. Yes, we'll see patches, but for once, can they release a game when the game is actually finished next time?Tags: None -

Is this the 'told you so' thread for your advocating the gutting of game modes? -
Re: So can we clear this up right now. This game was not ready for launch.
Don't be afraid of getting "flamed" for being upset about a product
you bought for $70-80 that has multiple issues that are well
documented on here.
There are always gonna be people that get mad or annoyed
about someone liking or not liking something they don't. They
might insult you and be on their high horse but ignore them
and let your voice be heard.
2K has had some major issues for years and we've sat quietly
and patiently and giving them a free pass on past games and
what has that accomplished? nothing
Its come to the point that we have to be vocal about our frustration
and action needs to be taken because its become unacceptable.
For the people that are blind to what's going on or are happy paying
that money for a flawed product ignore them as they don't understand
whats best for them and the game.Comment

I don't know about gutting modes but there needs to be a frank discussion about being overly ambitious.
Innovation is great, it has to happen and its a huge part of marketing but they need to lock down some of these modes before spending valuable time and money on crap like 2KTV or whatever it is.
Even the casual gamer would happily trade flashy innovation for functionality.
If they're not bugged they're unplayable like the Park. There's no value in selling innovation and leaving your customers high and dry.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Overtly ambitious is an excellent term and I agreeComment

Here's an idea, every patch that comes within the first month of a game being released we should be credited $10 into our account online as a way of saying "the game was not ready to be released".
I think it's lazy to release buggy/not tested games nowadays knowing you can just patch them; yes, it's a good thing they can fix them, but on PS2 and original Xbox there was no patching. Just release the game tested and ready to go.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: So can we clear this up right now. This game was not ready for launch.
you guys kill me "every patch within the first month should come with a 10 dollar credit"
that comment is so ridiculous i don't even know where to start.
if its truly the "same stuff every year" and you keep buying it, then you can't complain. Wait until they fix it, and then buy it.
They try their best, they aren't perfect, but I promise you that they are trying to make the best product they can, and I think they do a great job. Of course there are flaws, but there are more constructive ways to voice your displeasure then some of the ways i've seen in this thread....Comment

Re: So can we clear this up right now. This game was not ready for launch.
I seriously doubt they or any other game developer would have the time to test for some of the silly things gamers will try. There was an awful lot of work that went into the rosters this year, by a former OS veteran. While centers shooting successfully from beyond the 3pt line while moving may be an actual glitch, I don't know it's something you'd really write a test case for. What's to say someone couldn't expose a bug by putting a center a point guard and shooting from beyond half court? Should there be test cases for that or similar unlikely situations? Likely the testers are looking more at things that are actually game-breaking, rather than odd.
Since most glitch videos tend to be of the 1-play out of hundreds that occur during a game, and we don't know if the ratings were modified by the player, I'd lean towards needing to see more substantive evidence before blaming the testers or whatever quality control measures 2K has in place.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Gotta give credit for EA realizing they needed extra time and pushing their release date back, unlike 2k who are now willing to put out anything to collect money. This is coming from an avid 2k fan and former mod at their official forums. 2k just aren't what they used to be.Comment

Re: So can we clear this up right now. This game was not ready for launch.
These companies are meant to release these titles on a date issued by the NBA, I'm sure EA is paying a hefty fine by releasing their title late. All annual titles are going to have issues at launch especially with how complex these development kits become. Expecting a perfect launch is foolhardy and people need to stop expecting "perfection" or anything of the sort. Just enjoy the game cause eventually everything will be smoothed over and stop claiming the game is "incomplete" or "broken."Gotta give credit for EA realizing they needed extra time and pushing their release date back, unlike 2k who are now willing to put out anything to collect money. Give Ea credit? EA did that because they know if they blow it again this year, they will never recover. Simple solution would be not to buy on release day, and observe people's complaints about the game, and then make your decision. Nobody has been forced to buy this game at all..... Stop spending your money on something you don't like, and then complain once you get it lol...Gotta give credit for EA realizing they needed extra time and pushing their release date back, unlike 2k who are now willing to put out anything to collect money. I have no idea, this is why I don't visit the game forums except for sliders and stuff. It's better to be blissfully ignorant of the issues and just enjoy the game IMO.Comment
