Lost our home opener to the Rangers 5-2 (one goal was an EN). We came out and went up 2-0 in the 1st, but it was all New York after that. Petro was injured early in the 2nd period and the Blues couldn't figure out Lundqvist.

Next up is Calgary, backup rookie goaltender, Jake Allen to start in net. Jordan Leopold called up to take Pietrangelo's spot in the lineup. No news yet on how long Alex will be out with bruised ribs.

Calgary leaves St. Louis with a W, beat us 3-1 behind stellar goaltending from Hiller. The Blues travel to LA to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champion Kings. Good news is Petro will be in the lineup.

          Points scoring:

          Nugent-Hopkins 16G, 46A, 62TP
          Hall 29G, 29A, 58TP
          Eberle 16G, 34A, 50TP
          Perron 27G, 22A, 49TP

I just couldn't score after the break. Lots of offensive work to do.
Finished year two with the identical record, which has to be considered a disappointment. My biggest issue is goaltending. Scrivens is my #1 and he's only an 84. My #2 is Fasth and he's an 82, so I have some of the worst GAA in the league.

My offense was a lot better and in year three we should be one of the top in the league. I've upgraded a number of positions, including goalie, so I'll update what they are asap.

0-3-0 start to the season as the Kings take care of us 5-2. No love loss between these two teams as there were a total of 11 penalties. Quick proved to be the great goalie he is and after leading 1-0 on a TJ Oshie goal, the Kings score the next 4 goals and never look back.

Shattenkirk left the 2nd period with an injury, so once again Leopold will step in vs Arizona.

Blues get their first win of the season, beating Arizona 4-3. Now that we have the monkey off our back, let's see if we can put together a good stretch. No day off, next up is Anaheim.

Came back to beat Anaheim 6-5 in a shootout. We get back to home cooking and beat Vancouver 3-2 in a shootout. Next up is Chicago with TJ Oshie out. We call up Ty Rattie. The Vancouver game had 4 total injuries and plenty of fights.

This might be the best game of the series.. I'm having a blast!

MizzouRah, in BaGM, do you notice if teams play differently than others?

Not as much as I would like.. but the Kings dumped and chased on me all night long and out shot me by a wide margin. I like to hold teams at the blue line as much as possible though.. so the only options against me at times are to dump the puck and chase it into the dirty areas.

Game play is much more loose though.. with deflections, bad passes, shots that miss their mark, etc..

Re: NHL 15 - How's your GM Mode going?

Hey guys, hope your GM modes are goind well.

I started a Flyers GM on PS3 few days after release and after 20 games (playing every game) my record is 18-1-1, averaging almost 6 goals per game on Superstar difficulty. I did few trades during the draft, mainly to trade for picks, but also traded Emery for Martin Jones and Vinny + AndyMac for Zach Bogosian. Not the most realistic trades but I wanted to get rid of Vinny to open up 2C spot for Couturier and I wanted to get rid of AndyMac's long contract. And, finally CPU GM gave me a trade offer I could not refuse (first one ever). Detroit offered Gustav Nyquist in exchange for RJ Umberger and 2015 3rd round pick, I felt like I came out of that trade like a bandit.

So far it has been great, but I want to start over with new rosters whenever they release them after start of NHL regular season, hopefully including Ghost (I will create him if he is missing). At least I know now that Brayden Schenn can play on LW with Giroux and Voracek, Couturier is great as 2C (except he kinda sucks in faceoffs) and Laughton is more than capable of playing as 3C (within 1-2 season should jump to 2C and put Coots back to 3C).

But I want to play a little bit of BeAGM before I start Flyers over again, maybe another team? I would be simming a bit so I would go through season a bit faster. Any suggestions which team? I was thinking about Dallas Stars, Benn-Seguin-Nichuskin 1st line seems very tempting and Spezza-Hemsky on 2nd line is also quite nice. But the D looks kinda mehh and I don't like Lehtonen, so I would have to trade my starting goalie and maybe get a proper number 1 defender. Although, with recent trades by NYI, they look very promising to start a hunt for the Cup. Tavares, Okposo, Grabner, Grabovski etc should provide a decent top9 and now with Leddy and Boychuk, the top4 does not look too bad. Plus Halak/Johnson on net, I would not have to make many trades, only one or two to acquire some role players to bottom6 and maybe get some more picks.

I don't really want to do a rebuild, maybe a team that has a potential to make the playoffs and with some growth in 1-2 seasons the team could make an annual contender. So any suggestion is more than welcome.

                        Thanks,
                        M

So my key pickups going into year three are LW Abdelkader [thru a trade w/DET where they got a decent defense-men and a third round pick,] RW Downie as an FA pickup, RW Purcell as an FA, and the biggie is G Lindback. I spent a ton of cash to pick him up on the market, but as an 86, I figure he's more helpful than the 84 I've been using [Scrivens.]

Things have paid off to this point. I sit at 27-17-11 which puts me at 65 points, a solid five seed in the west for now. I'm tied for top in the Pacific Division with LA though, so major improvement. The best part about my team is youth.

We dominate a Blackhawk team without Kane and coast to a 4-1 win for our 4th win in a row. Next up is Dallas.

We are grounded by Dallas, who beats us with ease, 4-1. Next up is Anaheim at home and we head to our 3rd shootout of the season tied, 3-3. TJ Oshie puts one top shelf and we are 3-0 in shootouts this season and get two points.

The Central Division leading Colorado Avalanche come to town next.

Re: NHL 15 - How's your GM Mode going?

Chose the Sens for my first BaGM. So far I'm a surprising 5-1 to start the year—despite Karlsson missing two games with an injury.

I decided to keep Lazar up with the big club for at least nine games. He's done well so far.

Method has been an absolute beast, we're playing a good team game overall, but Anderon and Lehner have been fantastic.

Zibanejad has had a surprisingly good start with 3 goals and 3 assists.

The top line of MacArthur, Turris, and Ryan is contributing well also. MacArthur leads the team with four goals.

That said, our schedule so far has been relatively soft: @ NSH, @ TB, @ FLA @ COL, CBJ, TOR. Our loss came against the Bolts, and they shut us out 2-0. Couldn't really contain Drouin and Stamkos' line, and we compounded that with penalty trouble.
