    MyGm thoughts

first I have to say that I love the mode and been staying up all night. There are somethings that I've had to learn through trial and error (after a few simmed seasons) and I thought I'd share

-training matters A LOT. Focusing on different areas really does improve your player in that area significantly. This can absolutely backfire. I put Harden into d drills the entire first season, the result, a big jump in defense but offense dipped significantly and his overall dropped by 2. You get some natural progression in everything by going with the "player type" option. It is more effective to do specific drills with younger players.

-injury rehab in the training menu works well in getting players back on the court and at 100% for minor injuries

-speaking of training. Your selections per player override your team selections. When players complain about too much or too little training, drop/raise the intensity by 2 at least for them to notice the difference.

-teams value their players HIGHLY. Attempt your trades with care.

-when drafting, the suggestion of the owner (at least for my rockets) has generally been the better player.

That's all I can think of right now... Any revelations from your time with the mode?

I personally prefer myleague...i like playing 29 game seasons and that option is not available for mygm...basically, myleague is similar to the association mode in previous versions...i'll probably play mygm in the future but I'll be simming most games...in myleague, i play all the games...

Good post bro. I started a thread about player development. This helps a lot. Do you have any suggestions for effective types of training for certain players?

Wait so you can actually train players in-season in MyGM mode?

Why couldn't they carry that over to MyLeague?

I love getting my role players to advance in areas during a season but I can't do that in MyLeague.

I didn't know about the training rehab thing. Can you do that in MYLEAGUE to?

I do play the games too, but I start playing after simming my first season. My most successful simmed season for player growth was default sliders superstar difficulty

                    Re: MyGm thoughts

well I've only run through a 3 first seasons with the rockets so i can only say what works for me. For the younger guys that were riding my bench, I focused on growth, so I kept them on their player type and high to very high intensity on their trainings. Terrence Jones, power forward for the rockets, I focused on strength and defensive consistency and post defense. Though he was an offensive focused player type, I don't think it stifled his development too much (he went up in overall and didn't lose much offensively, if any). There's a badge that's like high work ethic or something and you can push those players harder in training and see more results (like you can keep them in "high" intensity while giving them regular minutes) and they also see relatively high jumps in overall. Veterans like Dwight and I traded for Luc something or other from Philly don't like intense workouts so I lowered their intensity to low fairly early on. Harden was my swing guy. Initially I put all his training time into defense related areas, and, as mentioned above it didn't fair too well. He generally saw an upswing of about 4 points in a few defensive areas but a down tick in every offensive stat of about 2 points.

What I would suggest is put your young players in the drills that mold them into the players you want them to be, players in or approaching their prime, put them in drills that focus on making them better at doing what they already do well, and older players... just try to keep them happy

question for mygm players... how mad does your owner have to be before your job is in danger.
