Pick and Roll Play-Sets: Unstoppable Double PnR Offense by SAM PHAM

Hey OS ! Here's my video showcasing my Playbook and Unstoppbable Double PnR Offense:

*This is Part 3 of my PnR Tips/Tricks series, if you wanna see part 1 and part 2 please visit my channel.

** The whole "UNSTOPPABLE" thing is just for show; statistically speaking this is STOPPABLE 45% of the time lol... But hey 55% FG precentage is pretty good haha

This dude is on some next level ish with his pick and roll scheme. Setting up the playbook page to easily flow from side to middle is genius. This is a good video man but you need to lay some ground rules for this. This is very similar to how D'antoni would kill teams with his pick and roll.

    1. This is designed for teams with two if not three good 3pt shooters or no one will respect the shooters. Which means this will not work for teams that lack good shooters.

I didn't really no how to use pick and roles before this. I have a hard time either getting a hole to drive into with the player who has the ball or having a passing lane to the guy setting the pick for a pick and pop or a role to the basket. I think my problem was 2 things after watching this thing. 1 not being patchent enough and 2 not taking the right angle to get the defender to go over to the ball caryer enough. Could you make a video about the 3 pick settings you can use when you call a manual pick and rule? I think you have pick and pop, rule and 1 I cant remember. I am going to have to try this in practice mode in a few days when I get to play again.

Yes I should mention a stretch 4 is ABSOLUTETLY needed to run this offence. Preferably a PF with 3pt above 80.

I'm thinking this would be perfect for the Cavs offense. 2-3 primary ball handlers in Kyrie, Dion, and Lebron, with Love at the 4 to stretch the floor and Varejao or Double-T to rebound inside. Looking forward to trying this out.

What kind of offense did the Cavs run last year?

I just been messing around with them in franchise mode and I do a lot of 4 out,1 in and spread the floor. I'll do pick and rolls but I also run sets.

They don't seem like a Motion, Triangle, or 2-3 team. I am sure their offensive scheme will be completely different now as well. But what type of sets did they run for Kyrie? Any off ball screens for him or did he primarily handle the ball?

Yeah this scheme is very nice. However your execution could be better. I know you were just going through the motions to show the plays and schemes, but setting up the pick and roll is just as important as what type of pick and roll play you call. You have to read the defender and set them up so the pick works the most effective and read the hedge!

I may make a video when I get back into the states.

Nonetheless, I love this scheme. Very nice.

Kyrie was mostly the primary ball handler, although Mike Brown tried to get him off the ball a little more. They ran a lot of iso/on-ball screen plays. But with this year's team, they will consistently have four players on the floor that can hit the three

I completely agree with cardinalbird, the set up prior to using the Pick is Essential. Here's how I do my set up dribbles: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oIC5M3sNQMQ

How do I edit the specific plays for my players under the assign plays screen? I cannot figure out how to assign different plays to the different d-pad buttons.

I agree and never thought about doing that. I would put top 2 plays as top key PNR and bottom to angle or side but I love this idea of setting plays up using the up down and side. Good ish!

I was thinking the same. Even if you take Dion out and have Mike Miller in to further stretch the floor, you have Lbj and Kyrie as the ball handlers.. who can both play off ball and stretch as well. Not to mention Love as you said. I think they would dominate.

I wonder if Phoenix would do well with this given their current roster they can stretch and have two ball handlers in Dragic and Bledsoe.
