With all the dislikes this game gets every year. After playing over a 100 games on line. This game really shines. The defensive options that were given this year was long over due and very welcomed. you can seriously play with any team and be very competitive. I don't run in to chesser like I use to. I cant get enough of the head to head battles just figuring out how to stop some thing this year is very gratifying. Its gotten to the point I play this games for hours unlike past editions. Running the ball is the best and hope they dont change it. this games is seriously a chess match and every thing you do must be set up at the right times. you just cant keep doing the same stuff over and over any more and have great success. You really have to be patient. It may not be the best football game but this one is close enough. This is only for online players. you cpu guys are missing out big time.

I love playing Madden online with players who take a real football approach. I agree that Madden truly shines online as well as local couch head to head matches.
I need to head online and start playing some games....I do like playing a chess match and your right....it is very rewarding when you can win online.Now Playing on PS5:

Except for the excessive drags and slants... And the man coverage that is blown non stop.. This game is amazing.. I just wish they could get it all working well.

No doubt it is fantastic. The only things killing the experience are users who want to be in as many LGs as possibly and cry if quarter lengths are over 6 minutes WITH clock accel on. I'd love to get in a competitive O.S. league but from what I've seen you aren't allowed to switch players on D which is a major buzzkill IMO.Comment

Yes but I stop drags a lot and slants are hit and miss. but if you call the plays to stop slants it does what it suppose to do. even the buzz defenses work like a charm. It just callling them at the right time.Comment

When I do play Madden this is the only game mode I play. This is probably the best playing Madden ever online, im having a blast espcially since my Cowboys are way better than they were when the game was release. Loving the defense, and it seems like the physics are getting better & better.Comment

I believe most are tired of the BS that goes on in ranked matches etc... and would rather play the cmp then sit through ppl running same play, nano blitzing etc.
my online gaming has dropped with madden I remember couple yrs ago I think for 13 I played over 200 games... past couple I played 17, last yr maybe 10? this yr only 4.Comment

I hate online play.
Hate it.
Yeah, head to head is definitely fun with the right people, but you arent likely to find them online...at least not easily. Most people who play online are casual gamers and football fans....meaning most of them dont know the game of football extremely well (since many are little kids) and alot of them just care about winning rather than playing a fun, realistic game.
A good head to head game of Madden tops anything you can play against the computer, but its hard to find them....especially for me since I dont get to play Madden much anymore, so most of the people who do take it seriously and dont cheese are beyond my current skill level, and most of the people at my skill level ruin it with cheesing.
Id rather just play the CPU. Still frustrating given how dumb the AI is in many cases, but more tolerable than the onslaught of cheesers.Comment

There's no honor in online & even though there is improvements. EA still hasn't gotten it quite right to give the AI the umph it needs to make smart adjustments to the money plays. Yeah it may be a game, but football strategy should still be relevant. It isn't in this game so a lot of stuff gets abused by the win at all cost guys. Sad to expect that kind of thing still on the new hardware....It's not about the win or loss that reveals a man, but the journey to get there and the battle that transpired. Hmmm. i dont know about that . i have stopped pretty much every thing that as been thrown at me. al most every defense in this games works. you just have to know when to call. it. I do not run into cheeser like many of you do. If i do run in to them i find it as a learning curve to stop the next person who does it and it works out very well. I just find it more compelling than playing the cpu. defense really works this year and i am loving it. i dont feel cheated as much when I lose. i see my mistake and correct it the next time i see some one do a certain play. It is more fun shutting people down this year for sure. Its not for every one but its not bad as most make it out to be. For every chesser, I get at least 4 to 5 ppl that play str8 up after. That i can except. i know longer go in expecting ppl to play str8 up. My main objective is can i stop them and with the defensive tools this year its more then possible. However, when i do play some one sim I appreciate even more. The game is defensively good to stop any one this year. I here ppl com plain about man defenses but when i do man some time it works some time it doesnt but mixing it up be tween zones n blitzes you will destroy ppl this year. I am loving this game online.Comment

this game is far too unrealistic for competitive play. the receivers never jump for the ball. all of the defenders have 60" verticals. and the LBs insist on dropping back 15 yards, so the slants and drags are always open.Comment
