O Line Confidence Affect on Rushing

i'm in week 14 of my single person cfm, i'm rolling with the chiefs. i've noticed that from week 1 until now my rushing has gotten progressively worse. Charles is essentially useless, and Knile Davis only does some work. i'm currently 29th in the league rushing, averaging 56.5 yards per game.

on the season Charles has 121 attempts for 357,
Davis has 71 attempts for 264.

i'm playing 9 min quarters with 20 seconds runoff, and have had my run block slider at 57 all season.

last night after winning a a 13-14 game over the broncos with a total of 20 yards rushing at the end of the game, i was looking for an answer, so i bit the bullet and turned my run blocking up to 60, then advanced my week.

upon further review, i noticed all my o linemen Confidence were in the 30's with exception of my center who was a mid 40's.

am i giving myself an unfair advantage by upping my slider to compensate?

I had kind of forgotten about the confidence factor in the game, but with all my losing games, poor rushing games, etc is this what's actually created my rushing woes? i immediately kicked myself for upping my run blocking.

so, what do you say, is confidence playing this big a role in how our teams are performing?

Each of those players have expectations, ones that if they dont meet they lose confidence. Your biggest problem that i see is that you play on so low quarters that you never have time to establish the run.

1st Suggestion: Bite the bullet and raise the quarter length.
2nd Suggestion: Up the sliders. (You still wont get the yards to bring the confidence back up however)

What is the main reason of it?

Are you using speed burst much? The "mechanic" or whatever you want to call it is still in the game from M25, where if you hit speed burst before you're well past defenders they immediately break their block and warp tackle you.

Try not using speed burst until you're like 5 yards away from defenders. It sounds crazy but it makes a world of difference. You can actually hit the hole and you're not insta-tackled.

edit: I play All-Pro with run block at 46, have a decent O-Line, and I average about 150 yards a game on the ground with 25-30 carries.

I don't know man, it's up to you. I know what you mean though. In the past i'd feel guilty when i'd tweak sliders to compensate for team weaknesses. I've stopped doing that. The past two years i've tried tons of sliders over tons of games in test CFM's until i found something i like that i felt allowed my players to perform reasonably close to their ratings.

Then i bite the bullet and don't mess with the sliders. I try to find things that work with what i have and either develop my guys or replace them with better players who can execute my gameplan.

I also keep a close eye on confidence and don't let that get out of control, even at the risk of not developing young guys. I don't want to find out what it's like to dig out of a low confidence situation across the board. The mechanic appears to be a self-fulfilling prophecy and difficult to dig out of.

quarter length has to be the solution to all my problems. i've considered it over and over and over again, to bump it up. when it comes to yards, plays, and obviously establishing my game plan, going to have to consider playing longer games.

i bumped my rushing slider from 57 to 60, like i mentioned, my game last night i still only ran for 43, however i was behind, and doing a bunch of throwing to boot.

i wish this was the issue, i've got different issues than a speed burst button.

i can almost be certain i'm not meeting any goals.

As far as I am aware confidence only begins to decrease ratings when it drops below 30. This can be checked in the depth chart where it shows a players overall, then it also shows the players confidence affected overall.

I don't think the confidence has anything to do with your running game issues TBH.
