RipCityAndy nailed it, but his opinion will go quietly into the night as the euphoric lemmings among us will smother the opinion as L2P. If we are all being honest, then the negative opinions based on the facts are valid, and not worthy of the L2P's that are sure to follow any gameplay disputes about 2K basketball.

We WANT the future patches and workarounds to address specific issues and not be smothered out by those happy with what they have because it suits their own "good gameplay" requirement, or its working for them. Thats just like saying, "well it works on my dev box, must be operator error." All opinions should be heard and discussed, or workarounds explained so the experience is as immense as it was intended to be for ALL of us.

You're being a little dramatic here.

A lot of what Rip posted (I still don't know why he quoted me to say it) has already been mentioned....even by people who are enjoying the game. That's the thing, guys think if your not writing a daily diatribe about your issues, your blind to them, which is not the case...

I see Borns thread has hurt a lot of feelings...but if you cross reference the posters in that thread with the patch request/ impressions thread you'll see they all have their fair share of gripes...they just don't let it define their experience..kind've like how you enjoyed Live and never saw the issues the majority of users were having ...now you don't see how that's possible when it comes to this game?

I guess me and you disagree on what "gameplay" is...all good..

I just remembered EA Sports UFC is better in terms of gameplay too.

So i'd put 2k third behind MLB: The Show, and EA Sports UFC.

But 2k does have the best graphics.

Offline yes. Online it's the worst of any current game that I've played, sports or not.

It's supposed to be everyone's feeling on gameplay - not the various modes, not online, strictly the gameplay itself. The people that feel The Show is best aren't citing any of the issues the game had with poor online play when it released earlier this year. People citing any of the EA Sports games aren't bringing in any lack of modes they may have a problem with. Some of you are insisting on bringing up every single issue you have with 2K outside of the gameplay.

And even when you complain about the gameplay - complaining about something like rebounding for example, which seems subjective - there's no acknowledgement that there are sliders that work and the game can be tuned to one's tastes. None of these games should be expected to play perfectly for everyone right out of the box; not everyone plays these games the same way.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I find it funny how ppl get attacked on here about problems and gameplay. When u visit other forums almost everyone is in agreement of the problems.

That's the problem most ppl don't even touch the sliders, so they can't just release the game and expect ppl to do it. They should play test it and see the CPU is getting crazy amount of offensive rebounds even while directly under the basket. Or see that the CPU makes everything in the paint with two 7 footers in their face, or that blocking is harder because your players hands is going through the ball, or that pick and roll is horrible because when u press the automatic pass button the player wants to throw the ball directly at the person that is guarding him and it's mostly bounce passes, so your forced to do manuel passes. Also WTH is up with CPU teammate wanting to set the pick on your right side most of the time? Don't get me started on the horrible spacing. Even watching CPU vs CPU you see spacing problems. I can go on forever.

MLB The Show is better game play wise and presentation wise. Hell even MLB The Show highlight reel system is better then any other sports game out there.

And it seems like the same some of you do go on forever, with the same rants year after year. And somehow you're purchasing the game year after year. So now you're saying the sliders shouldn't be a consideration because most people don't touch them lol? That's laughable and ridiculous. The game isn't going to be perfectly tuned for every person, given everyone plays differently. As we've seen when some post entire gameplay footage of their play, it's not like everyone knows how to play or takes the time to learn how to play. So to come on and blame the game when it may be the individual's playstyle that's creating the issue is silly.

This is a game that has a ton of content, and a ton of gameplay tuning options so a person can get the gameplay experience they desire by tuning the play to their own liking. The guys that have worked on this game are 2K's long-respected devs plus highly respected OS members who are now members of the 2K dev team - people that have given insight on the games in the past, posted countless gameplay footage, and more. They've shown their dedication to providing a quality product.

But we're to believe your view that so much of the game is wrong, and you insinuate these guys did little to nothing to tune the game to play correctly. And that even when given the ability to tweak something to your liking, you don't feel you should have to do it.

... nothing really to say after that. As was said earlier in the thread, some of you complain just to complain.

Fiction. 2k11 had the best gameplay of any sports title I've ever experienced! If I could buy 2k11 with updated rosters, graphics and soundtrack each year I would.Oh, did I fail to mention the online lobbies?

2K's gameplay is decent, but let's not get carried away. User vs cpu still appears robotic with players standing still, or hesitating to clear the path for ballhandlers. The nerd developers still don't know individual players' tendencies, so they continue to group the tendencies ratings by position. Those same employees continue to apply the wrong shooting forms & signature moves to players and superstar players (ie Damien Lilliard's exact release=Quick, Gallinari release). Lastly, the alleyoop remains too And1-ish. So the best in sports gaming clearly goes to the Madden Franchise for a) keeping the stick controls the same for a number of years, b) rewarding players with effective signature moves and c) providing the best online vs experience ever.

2k11 is my #2 now. That first sequence with Jordan coming out the entrance in Chicago to Alan Parsons project was sick
