Ok just thought I would update my impressions as this game has greatly changed once again after this last gameplay update on the 20th .

Well after 14 games plus of testing Im happy to say the game actually plays better then on release date as the numbers Im getting are more accurate statistic wise .
And real physics are back especially player collision and gameplay doesnt have any traces of a generated boosted feeling and even when I win or lose most things are smooth and interactive so hopefully no more major updates .

Just picked up this game for the Xbox one for $35 on Ebay. Should get the game on Tuesday. Been a while since I played an NHL game but am looking forward to diving into it.

NO DIVING ALLOWED: the game is way to shallow and you may bump your head....lol sorry I couldn't resist. The lack of depth and missing things is a real kick in the nads but there is decent gameplay to be found $35 is a good deal

Recently bought a PS4 so it gave me an excuse to update all my sports games(I usually avoid buying sports games yearly except when there are significant improvements). NHL was up next on my list so I decided to get it a couple of days ago despite the bad reviews. The last NHL I got was NHL 10 for the ps3 so I have nothing more recent to compare nhl 15 with....The gameplay itself is solid..The controls didn't change much. One thing I noticed is the fact that player movements are more affected by momentum. Scoring goals is still as rewarding as before and the cpu poses more of a challenge when it comes to defense. Im primarily an offline franchise mode player so I went straight to be a gm mode. I noticed that you can no longer control minor league teams...even simulated minor league games are no longer there. This is not a big deal for me though because i usually simulate all my minor league games...The menu layout has a similar feel with other ea titles(madden and fifa)...one thing i hate about ea's franchise mode is they don't allow players to reduce the no of games per season..I dont like simulating games so 82 games is just too much for me...i wanna play all my regular season games....why can't they follow 2k's example? I'm currently playing a 29 game per season franchise in nba 2k15....Im not an online player due to crappy internet speed in my country so i cant really comment on the online experience...

So I've made it to the Cup Finals, and they've changed NONE of the presentation after series victories or the conference champions stuff. Great job.

PS4 just released the mp3 music program. EA needs to patch custom music in now.

guys, please advise on the following, im new to the series and was going to buy it on PS4 before i saw all the terrible reviews.

1) Are all the PS4 missing features available on the PS3 version?

2) have the ps4 patches fixed the vast majority of issues? I dont mind if there are a few bits missing and i likely wont play online but i want a deep 'franchise' mode and a comprehensive 'be a pro' mode. would you say we're there now?

so basically, should I:

*buy the PS3 version because its fine (albeit worse graphics)
*buy the ps4 version - the modes i want are fixed and fine now
*wait til next year

thanks in advance for all info/opinions

The problem is, there's no real alternative....2k's nhl games before were not exactly groundbreaking....

So I've noticed this in a couple games that, when on the powerplay at least, my team will have a forward as a defenseman. Like one time I was playing as the Flyers and when I was on the powerplay my PP line was:

B. Schenn - C. Giroux - M. Read

and on defense they had:

J. Voracek paired with M. Streit...

WTF???

Why do I have four forwards and a defenseman? Is this a glitch, problem with the roster update, or what? It's just really annoying and shouldn't be a problem.

Some teams actually play like this as a strategy on the PP to have a good puckhandler at the blue line. For example, the Rangers used Brad Richards like this extensively last season. If you don't want to do that, you can freely adjust it with line changes.

Yeah the Pens put Malkin at the blue line a lot on PPs.

Ah okay. Wow I feel like an idiot XD. Good to know that this is a real thing. I think I'm too used to playing with teams that utilize offensive defensemen, so that just kind of looked weird.

Your gonna miss some things but great game for playing. Its all the non playing features that are missing for the hard core series people.

I've never played this much hockey in awhile cuz game is amazingly fun!!!
