What is your opinion on MyCAREER this year?

MyCAREER has been a very frustrating experience for me to say the least, I'm looking to start MyGM now so I can actually enjoy the game and take a break from the cheese in MyCAREER. What is your opinion on this year's edition of it?

What is your opinion on MyCAREER this year?

An amazing mode ruined partially by the cheese. I get why they do it but we have difficulty settings for this and no NBA2K isn't Mario Kart!

I still enjoy it though.

The gameplay A.I. has many, many flaws and it frustrates me to no end, but I still love playing it right now. I think that once I start playing in MyLeague, coming back to the crappy A.I. in MyCareer will wear thin and I will abandon it, but I'm not there yet.

There are a bunch of things that reduced my enthusiasm, to name a few:
- Can't see team roster when signing a contract in free agency
- No playbook customization and not possible to see it, can only try it in-game
- Even if you're 65 overall you can displace a superstar in the starting lineup
- The way my player talks
- Not possible to see transactions between teams (trades, FA signings, etc)
- No playoff bracket
- playing in blowouts with a bunch of scrub teamates

Probably forgot a couple of things, but from the top of my head those really annoy me, I want all the info and I want the game to be as realistic as possible, hopefully at least some is fixed with patches.

But I'm still enjoying playing the game.
Edit: Stuff that bothers me is more related to the story than the actuall gameplay, and I can still get most info in other ways, like scrolling through all teams under player stats and see who plays where, and I only go to teams where the position I play is not filled with stars so me starting is actually realistic.

Disappointed in the still sluggish control of the player. Since it's an offline mode, why is there such a noticeable difference between MyCareer and other offline modes in terms of controller responsiveness?

Much as I love it; this is my single biggest gripe. You can tell they purposely axed your player's response times...

I like the cutscenes and endorsements ! Gameplay wise off ball and defense still feels sluggish . Honestly at times it feels like a chore playing . Not really fun. Mypark is fun tho

making it online dependent sucks and objectively decreased my overall enjoyment. also could really use some more polish- little things like coach subtitles just being pasted over the halftime stats while I'm trying to read them, or how I get off the bench only for the game to cut to a shot of me getting off the bench... again?

really wish they'd just make a cutscene based version of the my player in 2k12 to be honest.

oh yeah one more thing- NBA player voice acting may have seemed like a good idea on paper. IT DOES NOT WORK. Some of these guys simply cannot be asked to act, period. I would literally prefer a phony voice actor to guys like Eric Gordon or Al Jefferson. It completely yanks me out of the immersion. Please reconsider for next year.

Don't know where to start but I feel like I will find a place. Who does 2K video game testing? Are they basketball fans or do they even know how to play basketball? Teammates AI is still broken. I don't know about everybody else but it is like an act of congress for me to get assist. Sick of the VC for everything. I should be able to wear any kind of shoes I want as an NBA player. Can't expand a mode until everything is running smooth. Instead of releasing a game every year and rushing your product. Releasing a broken and unfinished product, do a release every two years and just do a DLC update every 3 months for patches and roster updates.

the storyline gets cornier and cornier the more i play this mode.

It's obvious none of these dudes working at 2k never played a single basketball game in their damn lives. Teammates running through my phones?? Really Even my GF never does that.

your teamates are dumb. The way the game dictates the in game events just to fit in the weak *** storyline.


And STILL NO ALT JERSEYS even after they told us that they were in the games...SMH

Love it finally got to play for my Lakers! (first time since 2k10) ONLY PROBLEM is during starting lineups they call my name last! No way my name should be last over Kobe I skip the cutscene every time because of this.

I figured since they hired a couple of guys off the nba-live forums we would have more customization and wouldn't have to use CE to lock in sliders. But it seems it got reversed. No custom rosters in mycareer mode(unless I'm doing something wrong) and a few other things taken out. I just do not get it. I got the PC version and lucky for me I use CE to lock in sliders so I can get my teammates to not act dumb(sliders really help this and it just boggles my mine why it's not in that mode). I feel really bad for the xbox and ps4 people that have to deal with default sliders.

Also you just do not have good control over your player. I decided to make a new guy and put all my points into D stopper. Unless I like lightly tap the joystick, my guy moves all nuts. I'm big on player movement, and what kills me is that it feels like you have no control over it. Really the only reason I even play this is because I spent 60 bucks on it. I'm about ready to go back to 2k13......

In my opinion, biggest things of MyCareer that need fixed:

1. Teammate AI - They miss way too many wide open shots, they play horrid defense both on the perimeter and inside, and they pass the ball way too much instead of taking shots. As a PG it's incredibly frustrating to pass to a wide open man who should be taking the J, but instead he passes to another guy who takes the shot causing me to just get a "pass to assist" which doesn't help my stats at all.

2. Starting lineup logic - If I'm a PG on the Pelicans or the Pistons roster with me being a 69 or 70 OVR I should NOT be put into the starting lineup against PG's like Brandon Jennings and Jrue Holiday who are both clearly in their low to mid 80's in OVR. Who's brilliant idea was this?

3. Too many minutes - 2k my Point Guard is a 70 OVR in his ROOKIE year. Why am I getting 38 minutes a game? More minutes than all the other players. I just signed with the Rockets in my 2nd year and I have more minutes than Dwight Howard.

4. Opening ceremony - Why would I be introduced last in every home game against STAR PLAYERS like Dwight Howard when I'm just in my 2nd year?

5. Sliders - We need to be able to adjust sliders in MyPlayer just like MyGM and MyLeague. We can only set difficulty.

6. Playbook - We can't edit our playbooks in MyPlayer which is understandable because we're only a "player", but atleast give us the ability to change our playcalling assignments. Let me choose which plays I want to run as a PG so I can run the offense which is the PG's job.

And last but not least....

7. League immersion - Give us more information on what's going on in the league please. This ranges from week to week to the post-season to the off-season. I had no idea who won in the finals. I had to actually go look under League History and see that Cleveland beat the Clippers.

Also instead of just simming the offseason, it would be nice to see which players the GM's grab in FA and also let us watch the draft on TV as an optional thing.

New to Operations Sports but a long time player of my player on 2k. I been playing since 2010 when my player was originally launched. I'll admit each year had its own glitch and issue but no matter what I still found ways to enjoy the game. Since launch in 2010 I'd say my leas favorite was 2k13 because of the half court my park idea. I found half court with 3 players was boring and couldn't really do much. But, then game this year.... Look the game play and graphics are out of this world. The story line is ... okay a little cheesy but hey it's enjoyable and season is fun too. But, 2k and developers what is going on with Mypark???? You spent so much time to enhance and make this better and I see all your work and thank you for it. It's just the whole Mypark atmosphere is ruined due to those who like to cheat/spam the system with creating centers. A NBA center should not have the capability to run as fast as a guard or even a small forward for that matter. A center should not be able to dribble like a pg or shoot like a sg. Mypark right now is full of centers ! All they do is run around left and right shooting 3s while the other centers stand under the rim and collect all the rebounds. This is pretty much the end of life for Mypark if this issue is not address and fixed asap. Lower their speed and ball handling please. As of now the way the game is myplayer is pointless if you can't go to mypark and enjoy a good game with others. There is just so much storyline one can play. If this center exploit is not fixed I may be putting the game away for good. I know I'm just 1 player/customer and 1 voice but I know others must be upset about this too. What do you guys think?
