Re: NBA Live 15 and First In-Game Update Available Today, Post Your Impressions
Played this several hours straight (caved in and got the digital version)
First thing = LEARN THE CONTROLS
This game is so much better once you do that...I know it sounds obvious, but a lot people's streams and vids clearly don't know the controls. WTF clearly does and you cans the difference.
I spent a few hours solely focussed on DEFENSE.
- CPU elite player drives = I call a double team...dunks, easy buckets etc cut down dramatically and opens up a whole new game as they kick out / pass around.
-CPU mid range game = it is there...you need to defend well to see it though. Read the pick and rolls / pick and pops and defend the space the guard will go to off the pick...that forces them to pull up for the mid range J. If the big is a 3 man, crowd him immediately so he doesn't get the 3 ball. Again, this opens up some really nice organic / script free basketball as they pass it around looking for the open shot.
I really recommend doing nothing except focussing on one or two areas when you get the game...don't even look at the scoreboard or worry about winning. Just focus on certain aspects like defending certain moves.
USE the defensive settings - they are deep, use them. Drive guys baseline / force them away from the middle.
Minor notes: Graphics are really nice. I have the CAVS v KNICKS game on my TV right now and the colours are so vibrant and 'alive'. NBA Live captures that and the atmosphere perfectly.
Key points = learn the controls...especially the D.
I am kind of excited by this game. If they really do keep updating it and add in some large updates like UFC and NHL have got regularly, this game could be really good by Christmas.
