FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
I want to throw my game away. Very depressed. I can't take it anymore. On normal kick off mode I dominate legendary and win. I know Career mode is harder so I brought the difficulty to World Class. I am playing in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and near the last 1/3 of the season I was first and still in the Deutscher Pokal cup. Suddenly, the cpu starts cheating and rigging the games. I thought that only happened on legendary but no matter what I do I cannot win anymore. I ended up losing my league and Deutscher pokal with cpu making the game so ridiculous that I stopped playing. I haven't touched the game anymore. Can someone tell me if it really is impossible to win your first Career mode or am I just that bad at FIFA? And what the hell do I do about this because I want to have a realistic and fun experience but EA found a way to ruin my life.Tags: None -

Adaptive difficulty is a live and well. I'll beat Man U as Chelsea 6-2 for the Cup final, and struggle against Watford in the Premier League without changing a thing.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
I agree that in Career Mode certain fixtures are definitely 'scripted' to make them unreasonably difficult.
Cup ties vs bottom feeder clubs for instance. Or derby matches (Bayern vs Augsburg was always very difficult especially the away game). Or just away games vs teams near the bottom of the table.
I also agree that the game gets harder near the end of the season. I often play more conservative when I can feel things starting to slip.
With that being said, you should win the Bundesliga with Bayern no problem. So you need to look at what you're doing as a player as well.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
I don't think it's rigging, it is more that the game ups the challenge at critical times combined with the fact that opposition tactics and formations matter. In my Crystal Palace CM, I would consistently beat Chelsea but lose to Newcastle. You have adapt to the context of the game (i.e. Cup matches are most challenging) and the club (i.e. don't come out in a 4-2-3-1 every game no matter who the opponent). Some formations and tactics work better against different teams. As much as I agree with most OSers that EA needs to improve team differentiation, teams do still play differently. They don't necessarily play like themselves but Man City does not play the same as Liverpool in FIFA.
So to make a long story short, you have to be cognizant of who you are playing and when. Change your tactics, change lineup, change your formation as you depending on the match. Sometimes possession will serve you better than counter attack and sometimes counter attack will serve you better than possession.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
I played on world class but after having a good point difference at 1st I lost it by tying 5 games in a row because all my shots that used to go in started hitting the post. And then Bayer Leverkusen just took the lead and won the league by 2 points. Should I play my first season on professional or is that just too easy if I can win most games on world class?Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
IMO, if you only lost the league by 2 (albeit with Bayern) then I'd say you are better off at World Class. It sounds like you are very close to dominating, you just need to experiment with different tactics when you get into those poor runs of form.

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
Ok this is really getting on my nerves. Now I know it isn't me. I am sorry but it is impossible to win the league unless you simulate games so the AI programming changes. I was up 14 points in my season with Bayern and suddenly these past few games, my players have some kind of lock on their speed so I cannot run as fast and suddenly I went from winning most defensive headers to losing the battles in the air 90% of the time. I don't know what software you guys have but unless you are restarting your games and resetting them every time you lose, I really don't believe you if you say you can win the league on the first year of career mode with a 5 star team on Legendary or World Class. The engine of the game prevents you from doing so and what is the whole enjoyment then? I think there needs to be a protest or something for EA to get a patch for this.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
Wow. Right now after my 4th loss in a row after 30 games being undefeated against World Class AI, my PS4 didn't let me save my game and there was an error and my settings in FIFA 15 got erased. I went back into the game and fixed my settings then played my next match and I won 3-1. Something tells me that the error was the game's engine.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
Lol it's far from impossible to win a league due to the programming. You are reaching very hard because YOU can't win with Bayern. You ask for a realistic and fun experience and this game provides that. Now if you want an experience that allows you to win and dominate every game and never have any moments where the CPU puts up a fight? Just play on professional.. win the league like you want, everybody wins?Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
I just want a realism but if I lose, it better be because I just happened to not move my defenders fast enough or I made a dumb pass that created a great counter attack by the AI on world class. I was undefeated for 30 games in my season! How can I go from that to losing 7 out of the past 10 games in my league for the AI 2nd place team to be within 1 point of me in the league? The sad thing is that I am changing tactics and doing things that have proven to work and actually do get me the shots I need for goals yet that same shot, same position, same power against the same team on my second half of the season gets saved or even worse, my players just shoot the opposite side of the goal when i clearly pointed and held the controller to the other direction for the guarantee goal. It only happens in the league matches. I am in the champions league final and deutscher pokal final. Yet in the league I suddenly have 7 losses. Is there a way to reset the AI cheap ways or do I just have to take the negative aspect of career mode and just suck it up?Comment

Play to the team you are playing. If I'm playing Chelsea, Man City, etc. I will set my play type to defensive, if I am playing Queens Park, Fulham, etc. I will set my play type to aggressive. Seems to work pretty well for me. I have also noticed how much of an impact form makes during games. If you run into an in form West Brom, they'll play like Man City.Last edited by JayD; 11-02-2014, 12:27 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
In my first season I'm top 5 with QPR after 30 games. Just beat Chelsea 1-0. If I would've played better I could easily be in first place. Feel like I get what I earn. Let's see if it gets "impossible" to win.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
It's not impossible, but the game attempts to add realism/excitement by making it so you don't run away with the league. It will often keep the table competitive at the top. In some cases, if you're dominating, you will get a correction in your record by losing/drawing to bring your team back down to earth.
Not much you can do about it. Very frustrating, we've all been there. Just don't smash your controller.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 Career Mode - Depressed
Ok so I finished my first season and ended up winning the league but by like 4 points. I guess you are right. What it does is corrects your ability to play nearly flawless games and handicaps your team to make the other teams catch up in the league. I know it is trying to be realistic and create excitement but I feel like the only league that 5 or 6 teams are really close in the title race is the Barclays Premier League. If I pick Bayern Munich in Germany and am dominating by 13 points from second place, I shouldn't be forced to lose games and let other teams catch up to make it close. Maybe I should have done the career mode with an English team and then the realism would kick in.Comment
