    Generational Talent (draft picks)...

I'm only into Week 11 of Season #2, but I've nailed down a sure-fire HOF'er(he just hit 99 OVR in his Rookie season!), in the form of a QB from Wisconsin that was drafted by Green Bay and wears the #4 jersey(CPU choose it for him/default), so he must be pretty good if he is allowed to wear Brett Favres number:

    Gerry Lamb, Rd 1 pick #9; 6'1" 212 lbs, AGE 20 - 81 OVR(@ draft; 99 OVR now @ week 11!) 95 THP, 85 SAC, 83 MAC, 72 DAC, 89 RUN, 70 PAC, 83 SPD, 91 ACC, 90 AGI

I had an awesome draft, picking for 10 teams, I ended up with quite a few studs(a HB, a couple WRs, an OLB, 2 CBs and a FS namely) but this guy has just taken off and is heads and shoulders above everyone else in this draft class(none over 91 OVR besides him yet)...

Let me hear of some exceptional draft talent that has been choosen out there, the players that come around with once-in-a-generation skill!

Cool, but 99 overall in a rookie season is ridiculous

I THINK what he means is...it shouldnt be possible.

99 is as good as it gets....all time greatness level. You shouldnt be able to do that within your first 2 years. Guess it wouldnt be a big deal if it happened once in awhile....but in Madden, the progression is flat out broken.

95-99 should be nearly impossible to attain....and certainly should never be possible by your 2nd year.

In Madden 99 isn't as good as it gets. You could probably be a 115 if the ratings went past 99.

I agree it should be nearly impossible to attain, that would make the player a generational talent. As it is its not rare or difficult to make a player into a 99 overall player especially at the quarterback position.

The progression/regression system currently in place is beyond broken. There should be very few elite level players in the game and it should be difficult to get players to that status. I also think the xp system needs to be scrapped, if we want to upgrade a specific skill for a player we should have to do so via game plan workouts, not save a bunch of xp to dump into any attribute. Players should then progress/regress between seasons more similar to how it used to be done in Madden.

                Dan Marino would disagree.

I do agree though it should be a huge exception and not the rule, but just pointing out that up until this new era of NFL football, the big single season records were held (and held for a while) by a second year QB.
And it was a season he never replicated.

What's green bay doing drafting a QB in the first round of season #2? Especially if the user is drafting for them.

They'll never be able to get enough trade value out this guy.

He's a QB rated 99...20 years old? He'll get plenty of value lol

Didn't Watt, Miller, and Sherman all do it last year?

You'll never get what a 20 year old 99 OVR QB is actually worth. 3 draft picks is getting robbed.

I hate to be that guy but if you are sitting on a 99OVR 20 year old, then it's Rodgers on the block, not him.

Rodgers getting traded is the same scenario.

It's still a good turn from a 1st rounder and there's worse things that could happen to you. But ultimately you're giving away either the rookie or the previous best quarterback in the league for at best 2 first rounders and a top level talent at another position, or you let them walk for nothing. Either way you're getting hosed and elevating another team to Super Bowl contenders.

Griffin fetched 4 picks, Rodgers would at least match that. After one year of extreme pain from the cap hit, you would have another two where you had 20 extra million to build around him before his rookie deal was up + probably 4 first rounders + your quarterback is 10 years younger and you'd still somehow be upgrading at QB.

It's a far-fetched scenario, obviously, as Green Bay would never waste a first rounder in Rodgers' prime. But if they somehow did, they could get value out of it without being "hosed."
