If you go back to an earlier post of mine in this thread, I stated exactly what I did the game before they both unlocked. I will look back as well to get it if you don't find the post before I do. However, I remember forcing a drive at the perimeter, then blocking him when he got into the paint. It was a nice play. Not sure if that particular thing unlocked it, but I am sure it helped. Don't get me wrong, I am no god on D. In-fact, I gamble way too much. But that game I was beastly.

As for shot creator and the tut series I said I was going to do -- here is episode 1: http://youtu.be/ZsZ2RpD1PPQ

As I said in my latest video... I'm beginning to believe that 2K put some mechanism in the game that changes some of the rules once you stack up a certain amount of badges... or if you stack certain kinds of badges in an attempt to keep people from creating X-Men. Everyone has ONE badge they really want and DESERVE that they can't get... They don't want anyone to have a 100% perfect player.. or they want to make it EXTRA difficult. I for example CANNOT get 'Bruiser' which totally makes NO sense...

If that's true, then 2k can go piss up a rope. It's just my opinion but the badges have ruined my 2k experience so far. Yeah, I know earning the badges is more admirable than buying them, but I bought them with earned VC in previous years. Earned VC played over the course of enjoying many modes of the game. But now, all im doing is grinding for badges in mycareer. And grinding for what? Who knows, since the badges I really want, no one REALLY knows how to get them. Plus, when I bought signature skills, i only bought the skills that fit my style since you could only equip 5. With these badges, I have stuff like Tenacious Rebounder and all the Post badges and I'm a freaking SG; yet I can't get Acrobat or Unfazed or Deadeye. It's absurd.

Yeah... & I'm a power forward with dribbling badges... LOL.
But I do so much research on these badges & talk to so many people on a daily basis.. I'm starting to see a very noticeable pattern of people with similar players who do similar things & don't get the same (skill) badges after they have stacked up over 20. Especially the good ones like Lockdown Defender, Microwave, Acrobat, etc.

I do have Gold in tenacious rebounder. And I've been averaging 17 rebounds a game lately, with a pretty good share of them being offensive rebounds.

Also, I was about 2 games ago, I had a practice where the coach told me to really focus on hustling out there. I thought I did pretty good, even though he said I didn't.

Worse, to me, is the packaging of the attribute upgrades. I really want my PF to be able to shoot free throws, but to get that, I also have to improve his 3 point shooting. And for me to be a good post defender, I have to improve my perimeter defense too. To me, it means you can't build actual NBA players. If you go look at their stats, you can't match, say LaMarcus Aldridge (or Kevin McHale), because you end up with BETTER stats through buying stuff you don't really want.

Just unlocked Floor general. Makes a huge difference in getting your teammates to hit their shots. Still cant get microwave or one man fast break tho. Still waiting on dimer as well but im nowhere near 1500 assists yet.

Hmm, interesting theory. I'm not sure I agree though but I definitely respect your opinion.

I just think a lot of these are based on tendencies and over the course of lots of games. Like I said, I was a pest in D since game one really and I didn't get lock down and eraser until mid season 2. For people just starting to execute certain things for badges when they are well into their second season, it is going to take a while to build those tendencies.

I say it's all about patience. However, I'm sure there are badges that are size or position specific.

How much of a setback is it if u get "allow man to score" when trying to get perimeter lock-down defender? Cuz seriously sometimes when your 100% contesting the shot u still get "allow man to score" and also sometimes u just cant do anything about it and your matchup scores.

Just got the dream like up and under badge.

(post up and tap the right stick right and or left and right) keep doing that same post move over and over it took me about 5 games on no sim)

All i need now is eraser and my center will be finished.

I was averaging at least a block a game and some games I got 5, then I went on a streak of 3-4 games with 2-4 blocks and ended it off with 6 blocks against the Knicks.

I honestly thought I would have been more in-line for Chasedown Artist as the majority of my blocks are against opponents on fast breaks from behind.

I couldn't really give more than that as I wasn't paying attention to it as I wasn't expecting nor attempting to pick up the badge at that time.

I started a All-Around SG for fun, I already received acrobat on my point guard, but that was so long ago I could use a refresher.
How in the blue hell did you ublock acrobat

                                Heh, slick maybe. Pompous, definitely.

On topic: I think the idea behind badges was to excel in the actions you regularly execute. With the inability to cap every attribute category, titles being based on attribute allocation and badges associate with what you do; I think the goal was to have players with badges that contribute to their play style. Hence unlocking badges based on your decisions in cut scenes and your actions on and off the court.

This is why I think trying to earn every badge takes away from the uniqueness badges wants to offer. While it is fun to come together and "cheat" a few games by doing things you don't normally do, just to earn a badge; I do believe this is partly 2K's fault since several badges are over powered or too desirable. On the flip side, I think there is something very rewarding about just playing your game and obtaining a badge that will assist you in implementing a move you do every single game. Giving you not only an advantage while executing said move, but providing you with a style. A feel. A unique connection to your player that makes you feel like this is YOUR player.

I truly hope they build on this structure (except for bucket attributes. Whose idea was it to add badges for uniqueness then collectively upgrade attributes...). But this is why I think badges aren't limited besides being attribute based. Because even when based on attributes, it's still focused on what you do with your player.

That's just my $.02 about it.
