    Will OCK make the playoffs?

So with all the injures OCK has will they still make the playoffs? I am going to say no. Both KD and westbrook are going to be out in till around mid December and with how tuff the west is you are going to have to win 48-50 games to make the playoffs. If both KD and westbrook came back around mid December they will be around 25 games into the season and will need a few weeks to get back to 100%. Even if they go like 12-13 in those games that would mean with 57 games left they would have to go like 36-21, 38-19 just to make the playoffs.

Depends on doc ock's schedule. He's a busy man.

Cut him some slack guys, he's obviously taken the constructive criticism and proof read his last couple of posts. I would agree with him in this case that we know what he meant with OKC.

With that said, they will make the playoffs. The NBA season is long and almost everybody makes the playoffs. As long as neither Durant or Westbrook has setbacks they will be in the post season.

            OCK? Not a chance.

            OKC now is another story.

I think they will squeak in.

I think they will go, but it won't be easy.

Spurs, Clippers, Rockets, Warriors, Mavs and Grizzlies are guaranteed for me, so far.

It leaves OKC, Pelicans, Suns, Blazers and the Kings (lol) fighting for the other two spots.

Russ and KD have to absolutely tear it up when they come back if they want to make it.

Depends how they do while Durant and Westbrook are out.

I believe they will squeak in, but if they struggle now and have to go like 40-10 or something when they get back it's going to be very tough. West is so strong, I just don't know without knowing how many wins they'll have before those two return.

They'll make it easily. They're still the best team in the NW division when they're healthy, though I don't think they'll win a series. Even with healthy KD and WB this is the worst team they've had in 4 years.

They're good enough to win a series(which seems like that's all you need to do to win in the 1st round anyway)but like every team that makes it, depends on their matchup and how they're playing going into the playoffs.

So in short, they'll make the playoffs and still think they can get a Top 2-3 seed as well.

Re: Will OCK make the playoffs?

It really depends how KD returns. Will he play every game, will he sit out back-to-backs, will they restrict his minutes, will they bring him along slowly for the first few weeks/month?

The Western Conference this year is incredibly deep. Let's say the following teams are guaranteed a spot:
                        - Rockets
                        - Spurs
                        - Warriors
                        - Clippers

That then leaves us with 4 spots available to be shared amongst some very tough teams who could possibly make it all the way to the WCF:
                        - Grizzlies
                        - Mavericks
                        - Trail Blazers

Now there is only 1 spot remaining, with the following teams still in the hunt:
                        - Suns
                        - Kings (fluke or the real deal?)
                        - Pelicans

In my opinion, I think Sacramento will cool off and hover below the .500 mark. Still, the Thunder have to outpace the Suns and a very improved Pelicans team. And with no Westbrook/KD for another 1-2 months, and their current record at 2-5, it might be challenging to play catch up. Again it's a very long season and eventually I do think the Thunder will make it through to the Playoffs however I don't think it will be as easy as it seems.

I think they'll eventually end up around the 6-8 seed and it might be very interesting to see how the top tier teams respond. Would they want to match-up with OKC (with a healthy KD/Westbrook) in the first round?

Really though, just depends on how many games Thunder have Durant/Westbrook for. I think Durant will need to be there for at least 60 games for Thunder to have a shot in the west of making playoffs.

yea they will make it. And i think there gonna be a 6-8 seed, i also believe the spurs clippers and warriors(who i think will be likely 1-3 seed) will be afraid to face a team of there caliber in the 1st round. i don't particularly like the way the thunder play, but 4 wcf in 5 years is hard to argue, and top tier teams aren't gonna want that in the first round. I think the spurs might have the most to be afraid of, because they tend to play better as the playoffs progress, while most teams play there best ball in the earlier rounds. Its what makes san antonio great as a team, but could possibly prove to be a weakness for them this time maybe. Supposedly the thunder are showing an improved team offense(havent seen any of there games this year so idk if its just hot air or what), but if its true, they could prove to be even more formidable in the post season.

I'd like to think they will but I'm gonna say they barely miss out. The West is too stacked and they're going to need time to readjust when Westbrook and Durant come back. And I'm assuming Durant is gonna need time to get back in to game shape as well.
