Or does it just seem that way because playoffs= Better Teams. I cant sure for sure but it appears this way to me. To clarify I mean does madden up the difficulty kinda secretly in the background

I can't confirm or deny it for you, but a few years back, Madden 10, or 11... whichever year had that throwback, sepia tone thing going on... I remember pre-release the devs revealed that the CPU would play you tougher in playoff, and rivalry games. It wouldn't surprise me if some of that old code was still lurking.

I say no. If anything the teams are a disappointment and feel like less of a challenge.

I think so, but I can confirm they are great in the 4th quarter. I like it that way.

IMO the computer AI gets tougher in the regular season and playoffs. With the 16 game season in football, the gradual increase in difficulty is perfect.

I think so.

I had an offense with these WRs (Rivers as my QB): Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Randall Cobb, Pierre Garcon, T.Y. Hilton, and Vincent Jackson. Played a lot of 5-wide. On All Madden, I set the scoring and yard record.

In the regular season, right before the playoffs, I beat Seattle I think 37-13 or something like that. In the playoffs I played them, and their LINEBACKERS were blanketing those guys, and I was down like 24-0 in the 2nd quarter before I rage quit and adjusted the sliders.

I played the same. The CPU changed dramatically.

You got to remember that the confidence factor works for CPU teams too...confidence skyrockets for playoff teams so there players are all going to have attribute boosts

As someone who doesn't play offline cfms, this is my best guess as to the increase in difficulty

Yeah they do I think. It's not so much a huge ratings boost for them, more like they know exactly what play you are running more often than not.

I don't think so. We had 2 or 3 CPU teams make the playoffs in our online CFM and they all lost in the 1st round. Can't say they were any more difficult than the regular season.

I've had either blowouts or games where I had to run the ball 40 times because my qb all of a sudden was missing easy throws by ten yards...

No they don't...they have the same two minute clock that all the teams have. The computer would rather go for a perfect qb rating than win a game.

Down by 37 at the half in a championship game, your team needs a spark but is facing a 3 and out at the 50 after a great run back....what do you do? You take a chance and go for it....not the computer, it punts the ball and takes the chance that it's cheating tactics are enough to get the ball back...it's not.

If you can identify the blitzing defenders and audible, the computer is at a complete loss...regular season, play offs or super bowl are no different.

I went through the entire playoffs and won the SB with the Titans year 2 on all madden.

I gave up 4 TDs the entire playoff run.

No different.

You're losing so the CPU cheats? You beat the other team once so you should beat again? And if you can't you "rage quit" (in the 2nd quarter)?
