Over one month after release: How good is NBA 2k15 in your Opinion?

I kind of want to get a sense of people' overall opinions on NBA 2k15 now that some time has passed since the game has been released and since I'm still on the fence if I should get the game or not.
Last (and only) NBA 2k I played was 2013 and I'm somewhat itching to play some virtual Basketball again..

So what are the major issues, where does it shine? And where does it stand compared to the few last iterations of the series and maybe also to the other major sport games of 2015.

Probably an 8/10. There are a lot of issues right now, too many to name. Hopefully the first gameplay patch will address these issues, but i'm not optimistic about it.

BTW, 2K13 was my favorite and still my favorite game.

Best playing NBA 2K ever. You see a LOT of complaints on this forum about some things not being realistic, or both CPU and team-mate AI deficiencies, etc. But really, there has never been a basketball game this good. Ever.

Unfortunately, for those who focus on Online modes, such as MyPark, all of the technical issues are a huge "minus". MyPlayer is a love/hate situation, as it has been in past years' games (some of the same issues still persist 3-4 years later).

Overall I'd give it an 8/10. Like I said, still the best playing basketball game ever, but some of the same issues we've seen for several years now that haven't improved much.

Just think how close to perfect it could be if they figure out how to clean up the AI behavior some, make the animations more controllable, and balance the game out a bit more out of the box without having to make substantial adjustments to sliders?

Solid gameplay, servers that appear to have been largely stabilized ... the game is exactly what I was expecting. Still some problems here and there, but nothing that kills the overall fun for me.

Czar said that this year they laid the foundation regarding the new Freelance offense, which is a huge step in the right direction. The next step, in 2016 is the AI's behavior within the system. You see flashes now, but give these guys a full year. 2k16 will be banners raised. This year is Western Conference Finals like...which is not bad at all.

As an online only guy it had so much potential but with the lag input/ delay mixed with the servers (have gotten better though ) it's been rough . 7/10. If I only played offline 8.5/10

The servers are the only thing that sets this game back some paces. With servers and the multiple myteam glitches and issues, it's a 7.5 for me. But with gameplay and the other modes, including mycareer, it's an 8.5

I only play offline(CPU), so 9/10.

Sad about the broken myteam, which is the mode I like the most.

Offline its, controlling whole team, its easily 9/10 in there. Things look and feel as realistic as possible imo. Also so much ability to tweak gameplay by yourself if something seems a bit off.

Haven't played MyCareer yet, can't comment. Not fan of a mode in general.

Online modes are pretty bad with input delay for the most part. Had some very good games still, but it could be so much better if technical problems solved - 6/10.

I don't play online so not going to rate that part but offline it is just a few tweaks away from being the best 2k ever made besides 2k11. Controller response ex. (push button to block , takes moment to register) needs to be addressed which has been made a known issue to 2k. Long rebounding is non-existent on this game and tap outs like Tyson Chandler and Varejao are known for never happen as well. Smarter AI like everyone else has said would be great. Fouls and FT attempts are way too low even at 100 on all sliders but 2k is aware of that as well. Little things like not being able to add tats, headbands, goggles/glasses, change your nickname to your CAPs is minuscule to gameplay issues but don't understand why it wasn't there in first place since they re hauled and brought back CAP this year. MyLeague is amazing but still find trades are still not realistic and logical even with trade negotiation diff. at 100 so tweaks there are needed. Probably some other little things but I ranted long enough, it's a very good game but could be something special if they fix their issues.

6/10 way to many legacy issues. Cpu relies on cheap tactics vs basketball.

Mycareer was promising at first but turns out to be halfassed after the 1st/2nd season.

Largely depends on what experience you enjoy the most. For me, a strictly offline player who thrives off MyLEAGUE, it's the greatest thing ever. Can't really speak for other game modes, but for me I couldn't be any happier. The gameplay overall is great!
