well I did it.. I traded in FIFA 15 for PES 15 last night for Xbone. FIFA is a great game but I have become bored of it already and I feel weird having 2 footie games. Any ways, the best part about this game is the gameplay and on the pitch The presentation and licensing for those coming from FIFA will probably not like or even give this game a proper chance. Can't say I blame them but for me I'm an old school PES player still more so than FIFA so I can appreciate this gameplay which I think could become addicting. I have only played 5 matches so far but I'm glad the keepers really are very good so far... the best in a PES game that I can remember. I have so far not seen one bad play by a keeper yet in this game. They get beat but I haven't seen them make stupid errors yet or do things that are annoying. I think the keepers are very good despite being super human... konami needs to stick with this formula for keepers from what I have seen so far.
my second match after playing on default settings.. I went straight to Top player playing 1 bar passing... Liverpool vs United. holly crap.. the first 5 - 10 minutes of the match the mancs started out with possession and I swear I could not even touch the ball the entire time.. it seemed like the longest time in my soccer video game history that I have ever been without the ball that long in a video game. They came out flying and had chance after chance and Mignolet was making outstanding save after save! I was like wtf.. I wish he would do this in real life.
I seriously thought I was going to get blown out like 4 to nil or something during the start of the match. I basically weather the storm somehow and gave up 0 goals but right off the bat I was like this is awesome even though I couldn't touch or get the ball. The match ended 3 - 2 and it was exciting match and seemed very realistic as far as momentum swings in the match. You can really feel it when the CPU turn to control the ball or you start to control it over them.. but without it feeling scripted at all. it's hard to describe but the flow of the match is awesome in this game.. it's probably the best part I have noticed about it so far. I love shooting as well.. some might say over powered shots but I like how shots are again in PES. I will be able to blast some long range crackers in this game like the old days I can tell already. The biggest complaint I have is the fouls which mostly has been pointed out by many already. what is weird for me is the ref will not call a a foul against me I noticed but I can draw some fouls against the cpu and get some good free kicks. but still even the fouls against by the CPU are not enough or isn't rightas far as online goes..I tried for awhile last night to play anything to just to see and could not get any games in any online mode. I'm not sure if it was just not active yet or not. Finally though I was able to play a Divisions game and got beat 3 -1. I was not ready for that as this guy pressed me the entire match like most people do online in FIFA. next time I will be ready for that with tactics and again before I go back online. The game overall though was fun online and playable so that was good. I also had my 1 bar passing on still and I will probably need to up that next time I'm back online again. It's weird though because offline I was more inaccurate on my passing at default 3 bar setting until I moved it to 1 bar which suited me just fine and I was more accurate on how i play. Online though.. it was different story.. I tried to play it back to my keeper even and missed the entire goal and gave the guy I was playing against easy corner kicks. ughhhhhh the combo of slight button lag and being pressed you will need to up the passing bars online to higher. I will figure that out later. The game pace online felt right though as well.. sometimes the pace of the match or flow would go faster when playing past footie games online but it still felt good realistic pace to me in PES 15 which was a positive. I need to play more online to really give good impressions on it but so far the one game I was able to get in and play.. I thought it was promising.
what system are you playing on bc I notice the exact opposite problem. the referee will not simply call them against me against the cpu. I mean it has to be like red card tackle I think for me to get a foul. However, I have been drawing average 2 - 3 fouls per match against the cpu which doesn't seem enough in the 10 minute 4 matches I played last night. The only time I had a foul called against me in the 5 matches I have played was online when I hacked the hell out of the guy from behind I was playing online bc he was pissing me off.
I did get a yellow card... any ways, something is seriously wrong with fouls in this game and that is my only major most noticeable issue with the game play so far. any ways, all in all.. this game lacks the presentation, stadiums, even some sound, licenses... that FIFA has but it does have better gameplay on the pitch... and it does look a steeper learning curve as far as the overall controls with everything even though I know all the controls from years past but I'm use to playing FIFA more lately the last few years so I have to re learn some. I also think this game helps out those of us who really want to dig deep in tactics or strategy... I haven't messed with them much all to be honest yet but I can already see the CPU AI changing them vs me in game and I also tried the fluid formation option which seems great. other than that I have to experiment much more but so far so good... I do hope they can fix fouls though because the game would be even better if they did.
