    Squads Ruin the park.... and my supposed fix to make them right

    im not sure if 2k has ever been to a park in real life, but over here where i ball, we have a respect system or code, or what ever you wana call it.

    the guys who been waiting the longest have first dibs on the next game.

    im sure if you wait for 15 mins to play a game in real life, and some group of randoms run up saying WE GOT NEXT GAME. there will be a problem, no person is going to allow themselves to get skipped like that.

    Why not give the squad, like a 1 to 3 min timer to allow the guys who have been waiting to play to get a game started. i mean i am for the most part a solo player since 2k decided to separate the community and not fix the game chat mics over a month later. but it seems like the squad system is a huge FU to solo ballers.

    As far as I know if even one person is standing in the Got Next area, and a full squad comes up, and the person's in the got next area gets a full team the squad has to wait. If the person in the got next doesn't have a full team then the squad goes. This is how it should be. Why should a team of people ready to go wait on you and the chance that maybe possibly you'll get a team in some arbitrary time period. They're ready they go.

      Why don't you just squad up with some people here?

      You're right though, this wouldn't fly in real life, no way. I would like to see them scrap the whole "got next" thing, have you and your team mates (or just yourself) in a practice arena or an outdoor court each player with a ball just messing around practicing shots and use that as a lobby. Select what you want to play (2v2, 3v3, 5v5, rec center) and the servers just find a game and drops you into it. Winner stays on.

      No standing around waiting for games to end, no walking around the park looking for open spaces.

      The Park is a cool concept it's just executed terribly.

      Also, they should add a one on one.

      ...Another thing you could do if you went with my system is have two playlists, one for solo players and one for squads. You could also have a ranked system, so you have;

      Solo Playlists;

      Bronze; 2v2, 3v3, 5v5
      Silver; 2v2, 3v3, 5v5
      Gold; 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5

      Squad Playlists;

      Bronze; 2v2, 3v3, 5v5
      Silver; 2v2, 3v3, 5v5
      Gold; 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5

      That way squads only play other squads, randoms don't get matched up against well organised squads and you only play people of a similar level, so people that don't play it as much or buy VC can take their 70 overall guy onto the park and play against similar talent instead of going up against 99 overalls etc. (hence the bronze, silver, gold).

      They could also do some seriously crazy ****. Like add in custom playlists where you don't earn VC that are just for fun with people on your friends list, like a game where 3 pointers aren't allowed, where you have to pass X amount of times before you can take a shot etc etc

      I don't know, just spit balling here...

        I have a solution. Mortal Kombat and 2K Sports team up so when a squad comes to take the place of those waiting prior to them they may have a fight to death over that beloved and sacred waiting spot.

        Alternative: There's more than enough courts and I PROMISE you there will never be an instance where in MyPark you're the lone single person not in a squad (not counting if you're the first person to actually load into the park.)

          This is a good post and I understand your point but on the other side, it can be hugely frustrating. For instance, I just waited like 20 minutes for one game to end with four people next to me. That entire game we wait, and wait. A minute before the game ends, a squad walks up and takes the spot without having to wait at all and we get kicked off after waiting all of that time.

          It's so pointless to have to wait 20 minutes for a game, only to not be able to play it. Is there any other game in history that has ever had that happen to where you spend hours waiting just to play one game? I don't think it's so much the issue here that squads themselves are a problem or that squading up is the solution. The problem here is that there needs to be a better system for this that allows everyone to actually be able to play. Not just hope they get lucky and have enough people show up.

            Hours to play one game? Seriously? If it's that bad, you really should find some friends to play with so that you can squad up. Question: are you a low rated, brown shirt? People can be pricks and they will refuse to play with you if they don't think you're good enough. So, squad or not, you're going to wait. Has little to do with the squad. If the squad didn't show up, if you don't have a team, you don't have a team. You're still waiting. If you waited 20 minutes to play, and you STILL couldn't get enough people to play, THAT is your problem. I'll tell you this much, go play 2v2 or 3v3. Don't try to rec center. That's a social club. The games are full games and you have a hard time finding walk ups with no squad.

              Best idea I've read for the Park. I really like it. Nothing more frustrating than waiting several minutes for a game and then a squad comes up.

                Re: Squads Ruin the park.... and my supposed fix to make them right

                It used to only be tough to get in a game in the JRC but now the squads are making it hard to even get in a 3 on 3 game. You used to be able to sit on got next in the 3 on 3 park and within a few seconds of the game ending you would have two other people come fill the got next up. Now the squad that lost just comes back around and gets back on the same court before got next can fill up. PLEASE make it at least where if you lose you can't play the next game on the same court.

                  I've been ignored way too many times in the park .

                    Well if you're actually good then you can find friends on 2K who will squad up with you
