    Sales figures?

These are disastrous for the first week of release...

VGChartz - extensive game chart coverage, including sales data, news, reviews, forums, & game database for PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch & PC

They may not even outsell NHL 15 at this rate.

    Global First Ten Weeks (Units)

    <table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"><tbody><tr><th>Week Ending</th><th>Week</th><th>Weekly</th><th>Change</th><th>Total</th></tr><tr><td>01st November 2014</td><td align="center">1</td><td align="right">10,080</td><td align="right">N/A</td><td align="right">10,080</td></tr></tbody></table>

(No 2K references please...every man and his dog know that game sells millions.)

I know it's only the first few days, but an EA Sports title should be selling a lot more in release week.

Just for reference - FIFA 15 sales are currently above 3.5 million.

NBA Live 15 is currently at 10 000. (Ten 'thousand').

For an EA Sports title, that is unheard of. Even LIVE 14 sold at a better rate the first week.

    Bad marketing?

    Re: Sales figures?

Yeah the marketing for this game has been absolutely terrible. I don't think I've seen any advertisement for this game. I could see bad marketing for last years game, but this years game is decent and the marketing (even to the hardcore crowd) like us has been terrible. Not surprised by these numbers. Especially considering the outcry against the other game, and the HUGE opportunity they had to capitalize on that, EA should be ashamed of how poorly they've marketed this game. To be honest, somebody should probably lose their job behind it. Just doesn't make sense

The game is a lot better than the sales reflect. No way this game will continue to be made if this trend continues

        Absolutely...

For example, that video of how they did the various arena sounds was brilliant. Why on earth wasn't that released three weeks before the game dropped?

Most gamers won't buy two games of the same sport, so they should have been VERY proactive the week 2K came out and capitalized on their online bugs etc. Instead, they released absolutely nothing...not even a video of gameplay (which isn't that bad this year...a five min hype vid would have been very easy to make.)

WTF has done more marketing than the whole LIVE team

Post release, they have barely said a word. Why not tell people when the next gameplay patch will come or art updates are due? Get people excited about events that are coming.

It is a pity as basketball gaming needs competition badly. Hard to see them continuing though with these figures. Honestly, if it sells less than LIVE 14 the series will end. They can deny it etc, but no compnay keeps releasing a game that doesn't sell.

That's it right there......Live can keep getting better but if keeps pulling in sales like that. It's done.........

In Canada the game IS NOT SOLD at EBGAMES or WALMART. I've never seen that before. Where a store like ebgames or walmart won't stock a game.

They have to put money/time and market the crap out of this game or it won't make it.

I figured that not too many people bought this considering that it usually takes me a little bit to find a game online. Horrible numbers. This doesn't look good for the future at all. If they had just done some sort of advertising for this game it would've made a difference.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have NBA League Pass, NBA TV and 90% of my TV time is spend on a sports channel and I haven't seen one single Live commercial. Even during ESPN NBA broadcasts. I would be advertising the hell out of Live 15. The game has some rough spots, but it also shines (brightly) in some areas. At the end of the day man it's a damn good hoops game that EA should be proud of and show off.

To givepeople context as to how bad the fugures are:

NBA LiVE 15 - ten thousand.

Call Of Duty - almost four million.

First week sales figures in the US for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare are in. The franchise has been one of the top sellers every holiday for many years now, but seen a decline the last couple of years. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has sold a combined 3,722,031 units at retail in the US.

I know they are completely different genres....but it does show just how low LIVE's figures are.

I'm thinking the delay played a big part in this...killed a lot of momentum.

                  Those #'s are cringe worthy..

Their post release support this year is going to be crucial for the long term.

                    Re: Sales figures?

Wonder what their projections were with this game? Lut projections as well and if that is sustaining Live sales? They've spent quite a bit since Live 10, with cancellations of Elite and Live 13, and while there are redeeming qualities with this years game, these numbers are a little Facebreakerish.
NBA Live is the epitome of Cancel Culture..

Oh now people want to be concerned about sales numbers huh? Now we wanna talk about the marketing that should have been getting done a month ago?

When me and a few others were trying to bring this up dudes were twisting their faces and crying about haters and why do we care what their sales numbers look like since we aren't making money off the game and talking about the devs already working on 16 so everything is good.

This game is really solid once you sit down and play through it though it still has a long way to go. Sitting around on their asses HOPING people stumble across the demo or isn't paying attention and picks up the wrong NBA case at a game store is a disservice to this game. A few weeks ago I was at work talking with the guys and 2K came up. Every one of them were talking about how they loved it and were either picking it up soon or already had it. One of them brought up how they liked it better than anything Live ever did and that the last Live they saw (14) was garbage and that they were dead again. I had to explain to him that Live was out again and wasn't dead. None of them knew Live 15 was out and it'd been out for about a week at that point. No matter what they spew at you and promise you, sub 1 million copies isn't going to pay for all that scanning technology, motion capture, licensing, etc every year.

Not a single friend or family member that I know picked up Live yet....

That is the 1st time I've ever witnessed that happening amongst the people I know.

Some of them didn't even know EA released a game this year and by the time they found out they were already dialed into the other B-Ball game.

I suspect there are quite a bit of NBA Live fans who will try to get this game much cheaper later on since it was released rather bare bones in terms of options with the game.

Don't know how that would impact sales because there are a lot of great games being released recently or soon and that still puts Live on the backburner for most.

Based on what I've seen I'd say the marketing budget for this game was about $5

I cant speak for anyone else, but I judged Live strictly by its quality and what I look for in a $60 product. Not only that, but also weighing the fact that there's a more polished, deeper basketball game on the market coming out 3 weeks before Live with the value I expect for a $60 product. That's it. I don't care about Live selling only 10K copies or 2K selling whatever they sold. I'm enjoying my NBA game purchase this year, the Live trial is fun too. It's a good hoops year. Still figuring the game out. I might pick it up on Black Friday. Live's struggles and sales are not my problem. That's on the EA devs and suits. These numbers are unfortunate though because Live 15 is a good game. It really is and it has a ton of potential that I would love to see come to fruition. I imagine EA expected to take a bath this year on the game so it may not be so bad.
