Are you saying that I imagined it? It wasn't an opinion, I have no "opinion" on the mod because I've never used it. the videos were on YouTube, Fidel's mod 2.0 was the title. I don't post things just to post them mate, I'm just reporting on what I SAW.

Yes, I know Angus uses a modified db in the past as well. Doubt RC will use Fidel's for too long. I haven't tried the patches in a bit, but I will at some point as Fidel had asked me to do a review like last year.
You mind explaining the reasoning behind the changes?Comment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
What I'm saying is that your comments are unreliable at best and even misleading. Saying you watched a few random YT videos of Fidel's earliest attempts at adjusting gameplay via the CL file and were unimpressed would be the precise equivalent of me watching OneDrop playing with Matt's V4 sliders and slagging off the endeavor. Fidel is on 2.8 right now, by the way.
The amount of effort Matt et al put into these sliders is indeed laudable, but don't make the mistake of blowing too much smoke up your arses over them. These sliders put lipstick on a pig, but the number of gameplay elements which may be affected when using a PC vastly outnumber what you can do with EA's sliders. Period.
The lipstick is commendable, but it's still lipstick. Every time I go back to using default EA gameplay, I facepalm my way through the match and immediately go back to using Fidel's mod.
I'll admit: his earlier attempts were pretty underwhelming, but no more than the earlier attempts at sliders here on OS. But Fidel's 2.6 or 2.8 combined with some of the things we as a community here at OS have learned about sliders makes this game borderline amazing. The only thing that I think needs to be given thought is marking, because Fidel's mod makes marking FAR more realistic.
I know I'm swimming upstream here by mentioning a feature that's inaccessible to console users, but it needs to be said. Sliders are a mere tip of the iceberg.
For Matt's sanity alone, I'd rather he NOT mess with the INI files, because the variables are so numerous. It's why I love the synergy of good slider sets (these, mine, and the ones on Orion's thread among them) and a good INI file.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
Just to play devil's advocate here, Gnemi. I don't think Orion was implying that the gameplay wasn't working - it just didn't look appealing. Of course, all of that starts when the suggestion is to remove text of the word "PC" in the article. The issue at hand is that most people, as we know, that play on the PC have no idea about what a INI file is, or what it can do. For my FIFA 14 sliders, Zarzelius came up with his own that compliment my sliders (not the other way around, where the sliders compliment the INI) and it worked wonders, however I spent a lot of my time in youtube PMs to people on guiding them step by step how to use this one INI file. What I'm saying is that your comments are unreliable at best and even misleading. So sliders are Universal. Noone is saying they are the be all, end all - but they are the closest thing to where someone does not have to get out of the game to get the full experience. Yes, as soccer snobs (yes we are) we own PC's and want to take it the extra mile, but at the same time we can't disgruntle those who do not have that capability - or simply choose not to. I was the same as most of the PC guys on here, always bragging about how awesome the PC version is and what I can do - but it served no purpose other than a bit of an ego boost that is equivalent to little kid saying "na-na-na look what i can do". So since then, I decided I'm going to help everyone out - and that's the approach.
I think that SHOULD be the approach as a community, in a community sliders thread.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
I didn't agree with Nuno's comment. I thought it was more or less implicit on Orion's blog that he was talking about console users and non-modded PC users. Nonetheless, I have a ton of experience with the INI files and wanted to contest an anecdotal and semi-irrelevant observation based on some punter's YouTube videos.Just to play devil's advocate here, Gnemi. I'm not a disciple of heavy modding on the PC by any stretch. I just know from heavy experimentation the changes that it makes to the gameplay, almost all of it for the better. There are probably one or two things I prefer about vanilla, but not nearly enough to play vanilla. I love you guys but I still watch your videos and cringe at the things that simply *cannot be changed* with sliders alone.
Overall, I think the INI modding community are showing one obvious fact to EA: give us more options in the sliders.
If I could change the CPU tackling characteristics and the ADD of my teammates, I'd be the happiest guy on the planet. Until they give that to us, however, I'll be grateful to Fidel et al in the same way I'm grateful to Matt10 over here.
By the way, it takes 12 total seconds to use the INI file. Go to your FIFA 15 directory. Copy / paste the cl.ini file from Fidel's site. Load the game. Enjoy your life. No regeneration, no database shenanigans, just a single file.

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
By the way, I think many of us (including me) are still struggling to generate chances and properly finish in this game. Not even Fidel's mod helps with that. The CPU outshoots me around 2:1 or 3:1 most matches, even against crappy inferior squads. However, anything I do to change that significantly ends up trivializing the gameplay and making it too easy. This occurs both with and without the mod, on WC or Legendary.
Super mixed bag this year, simple as that.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
I dont want to be that guy but I'm going to be anyway, I thought this thread was about sliders and what matt has done. I dont understand why people come in here trying to debunk these sliders and post their own stuff. If you dont like them then move on, there are plenty of people in here that love these sliders for what they are. If you want to talk about your sliders and pc modded crap then make your own thread.Last edited by NightRaven3; 11-20-2014, 03:11 PM.Comment

80% of this thread isn't even about these sliders. Just dudes coming in here saying hey look at my stuff when its suppose to be about Matt's sliders. Just sick of itComment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
15 minutes is where its at honestly. You will still get the 1-1, 1-0 games but at least you will have more chances to score so those games feel like hard fought games and not feel cheap because of time limits.Played 2 matches last night with latest OP in my Everton CM, 10 min qrt on WC. 2 EPL matches away. Stats looked good in both.
Everton 1 Sunderland 1
Everton 0 Spurs 1
Will test a few more games, just hope every game is not 1 goal each side every match.
So maybe should test at 15 min halfs?Last edited by NightRaven3; 11-20-2014, 03:35 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 15 OS Community Sliders
While there is a good deal of off topic discussion in here, a post like this doesn't help anything. I see you're new (at least in terms of join date), so welcome to the community, and please be part of the solution by being more cordial next time.Comment

Sorry, I've been around a bunch of forums and the only thing I see are people complaining about people's hard work and stuff. I came to operation sports because I heard its a great forum site. I apologize for me snapping, won't happen againComment

You have to be careful with the shooting statistics, shots do not always register for some reason.By the way, I think many of us (including me) are still struggling to generate chances and properly finish in this game. As for Fidel's mod, I just checked out the site, seems interesting I'll tell you that, I would like to see a video of the newest changes.Comment

Has anyone checked out this gameplay mod? Looks really good, especially for those who want to change career mode up. Haven't tried it myself yet, to busy.Comment
